  1. McManus Blacksad is brilliant good stuff. Very nice.
  2. The McKay Rarebit and the Toth pieces are absolutely stellar stuff. Kudos.
  3. That 1st page I wouldn't have necessarily pegged as Sam, but that 2nd one screams Kieth. Dig it. -e.
  4. Noooooooooooo. Why do people roll art? Especially artists! -gah- -e.
  5. I just got in Jason Shawn Alexander's cover to the first issue of Dead Irons. Very large piece painted/inked on heavy cold pressed Arches paper. http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=7723 -e.
  6. Is this supposed to be of the piece you currently have in hand or the one you wish you had? I see both in this thread so far. Mark me up as one of those people who doesn't believe in THE one. Only because I've been around the carousel more than one time, and I know the trip never actually ends. -e.
  7. Seems like you'd be diluting your own bidder base by doing this? -e.
  8. This one's a little different, but it's by an artist that occasionally does comics. Kent Williams - Kokeshisena 8" tall, mixed media on wooden kokeshi doll For those that don't know what a kokeshi is. It's currently part of an exhibition, so I won't actually take delivery until October. -e.
  9. Are swipes cool with people that commission art? I for one would feel pretty unhappy, even if it was an original face and subtle details... http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=329768&GSub=51502 I can do another search on CAF and find the cat too if people want. I'm pretty sure I've seen it before too. -e.
  10. I don't post every purchase or CAF addition to this thread just because I know my tastes run differently than much of the board, but these are too swell not to share. I gave Duncan Fegredo's cover for Enigma #7 to my wife for her birthday in June. We're picking out the framing material for it this weekend. It will more than likely end up on a wall by itself, opposite 2 Fegredo Shade covers that are in my CAF gallery, for those interested. A bigger deal for me is a McKean piece that will grace the main wall in the formal living room upon it's immanent arrival. I'm so excited for this one it's ridiculous. Vampyr 43" x 43" x 4" oil & mixed media from the Nitrate series -e.
  11. Some of my favorite Bachalo work was done during this time period. Nice page. -e.
  12. I paid off a large AW painting that should be shipping to me next week. I worked out a deal on another Fegredo cover that I just sent payment for. Oh and there's a couple more Hale pieces coming early next week, one that I've been waiting on for a good while and another I made a deal on earlier this week. The next couple weeks should be good fun. -e.
  13. It looks rad and the overlay came out great. Bet you're loving it now that you can walk by it any time you want. -e.
  14. I remember that page well. Nice original to have. John inked Kelley so well. -e.
  15. I've upgraded many of the painting photos in my CAF gallery in a new attempt to give the closest representation of the pieces as possible. Before they were just shots in the frames, and the art was relatively small in the shot even though some of the pieces are quite massive. I'll continue to polish up the images in the galleries as time allows. Gallery Here <— -e.
  16. Read that this morning. Smacks of the Madoff nonsense. You can't use the money coming in to pay those you already owe. No way. If this story is true ( would assume it's the case), IH has some serious issues. -e.
  17. I don't usually do these, but what the hell. I finally got around to adding a couple cool little paintings to my CAF gallery that came in fairly recently. -e.
