  1. I contacted you, and paid you in regards to the sales thread. That should have signalled the end of my responsibility, as a buyer. If your shipping was going to be delayed, then you should have contacted me. The last PM I received from you, was that books should be going out the following Wednesday, which was Jan 21, 2009. I wasn't aware I was supposed to contact sellers to ensure they were fulfilling their end of the deal. If I pay for books in a timely fashion (within 24 hours), I kind of expect they'll ship them in a similarly timely fashion. If they won't be shipping them within the next week, I'd like a heads-up. An example: I ordered a huge lot of TPB's recently, and the seller informed me that he didn't have the book in hand, but that he expected it in his next Diamond shipment. I was fine with that, because he warned me, and didn't go on radio silence for two weeks. It hasn't escalated into anything yet; I started the thread here, because honestly, I was worried you might have been in some sort of accident, not posting for so long or reading PM's. I received many PM's from people who bought from that same thread, and I didn't name them or the amounts spent because I didn't want to needlessly trash your rep. You seemed like a nice guy from the PM's, and when I made the first post I was honestly concerned for your welfare. I was not out to bash you, or impugn your reputation. That being said, within 24 hours of that post, all books are now being shipped.
  2. It means they froocked over so many buyers, that resolution is impossible to even do the accounting for. Wow, then Comicsupply definitely belongs on that list, I would think. 'Hall of Shame' is so generic, though. If you want to label people that have screwed over countless comic collectors, give it a name with descriptive flair; 'The Dupcak & Ewert Disciples', or something.
  3. Good luck with that Beau. uh-oh, not again . . . exactly what i was thinking, i had an expensive order with him recently with no problems at all beau I've already gotten a PM from someone else who purchased from the same thread, they haven't gotten their books yet either. Any chance you still have JF's contact info, Green? Make that three...but I'm not going to worry until the 30-day point... Jim Actually, you make four, I've gotten another PM from someone else regarding that sales thread. I'm not going to make a real issue of it until the thirty day point either, which is why my posts are here instead of the probation thread. HERE'S the thread I'm referring to, if anyone has received books bought in this thread, please chime in. Just wondering if all sales are no-shows, or if he's shipping to a select few, like Comicsupply does. My purchases weren't big, but still well over $100. The TMNT #2 was to be a gift for someone's birthday, which went down last week. Good thing I asked for (and paid for) priority shipping with extra bubble wrap!
  4. I've bought from Filter before too, with no problems. Hopefully this is just a momentary lapse on his part. As far as comicsupply goes, I did eventually get a refund from him, after a few emails that threatened legal action. He blamed Paypal, saying he never got the email which said I had paid . I guess he never got the emails I sent asking where my stuff was, either. Darn internet! I noticed in the latest iteration of the probation list there's mention of a 'hall of shame'. What's that all about?
  5. This is why you should solely buy from me, dude... I would, if you had every book I wanted. Maybe this is a sign you should open a comic shop!

  7. Does anyone know the contact info for joker-fish ? I ordered some books from him three weeks ago, and haven't gotten them. He also hasn't posted here since two days after the sale, and the PM's I've sent are unread.
  8. If they do a good job during the year then I agree that an end-of-the-year bonus is warranted. If they do a job during the year then no bonus. Perfect example: Our normal mail carrier Kent, who delivers our mail Monday thru Friday, always leaves boxes and packages on our porch and never tries to cram them into our mailbox. He always places our regular mail with the packages when we do receive some (rubber banded together so they don't fly away). He even leaves a dog biscuit every day as he knows we have 2 miniature dachsunds (the oldest one gets them because our youngest dog has a liver shunt and can't have protein). He always smiles when you talk to him too. He gets a bonus. (thumbs u Then again the girl who delivers mail on Saturdays (even though she's pretty hot) DOES cram comic envelopes into the mailbox. And when she does leave boxes on the porch she doesn't put the regular mail with it. We still have to walk to the box to get the rest of the mail. Plus she pretty much has that look on her face all the time that tells you she got screwed over by a guy at some point and now ALL men are bastards. She DOESN'T get a bonus. My M-F mailman has been on our route since....forever. I live in a rural area, and my driveway is 2 acres long, mailbox by the road. If I get a package M-F, he will drive down the driveway, struggle out of his truck, rain or shine (he's got a prosthetic leg), and carry my parcels to the door. He'll knock on the door to poersonally deliver if he can, and if no one is home and it looks stormy, he'll wrap the parcels in plastic (even though we have a covered porch), just to be safe. Yeah, he gets a Ben Franklin every Christmas. Our Saturday deliveryperson leaves parcels on the ground, by the mailbox, rain or shine. We tried tipping her into better service the first couple of years, but no amount of of talking or bribing would coerce her into decent service. She gets a fruitcake every year. I've worked in the service industry, waiting tables, bartending, etc. So, I always tip when someone goes above and beyond the call of duty, no matter what the job. I know postal carriers are paid a decent living wage, but I also recognize that my M-F guy does way more than he has to, so I have no problem tipping him $100 every X-Mas. That's also why I give a fruitcake to my Saturday deliveryperson, because that's like leaving pennies for a bartender. If you can't be bothered to do a decent job, I can't be bothered to supplement your salary, especially when I've specifically asked you to not leave packages in the rain.
  9. That was my first X-Men comic, too. I was in the fifth grade.
  10. I know you do (since your rant of course) and that was my point I'm never going to live that rant down, am I?
  11. KUDOS to you for purchasing off the Boards and sharing your sweet Pawn Shop find with us!!!! You are truly appreciated! Thanks for the kudos DPP! However, I do buy frequently from these boards, and I only found out about the Pawn Shop buys after a guy came into my LCS while I was there, waving around a copy of TMNT #1 he found there, that he paid $1 for. He was wondering if it was worth anything. I almost gagged. Against my better judgement, I looked at it, declared it to be a true first printing, and offered him $100 cash on the spot. He balked, so I offered him $200 cash (it was a mid-grade copy at best). I should have been an and told him it was an Archie comics printing. I know my cash offers may seem low, but he had only paid $1 for it, minutes ago. At any rate, he told me where the pawn shop was, and I went there to see what he'd missed, and it was pretty much everything else....the pawn shop pics, I paid $1 each for. The 'Enemy Ace' with Neal Adams, I'm very happy to have.
  12. Some stuff I picked up here & there this past week... From these forums... From a local pawnshop... ...that doesn't look like a 40+ woman hanging out in that tree, waiting to pounce on a younger man, but you can never tell what those cougars will do. Just wait 'till she finds out the Rawhide Kid doesn't swing her way. The DC Special #4 is in rough shape, I bought it just because I wanted to read it, only to discover later it's the 1st appearance of Abel! As I was reading it, I noticed that Cain was acting like he hadn't seen Abel since forever ago, so I whipped out my trusty OS guide and looked it up. OS says Abel only makes a cameo, but he tells two stories on his own, so I consider it a first appearance. You never know what you'll find in a pawnshop, I guess.
  13. ...that movie. I love tricking people into watching it. It's like a two-hour car wreck, as in you can't NOT look at it. My favorite line/scene: "Hold these damn chickens!"
  14. Kudos to: Peter Palmer for the sweet slabbed Hulk #181 Mikeyriffhard for the GL #76 FlyingDonut for the other GL #76 HOTFLIPS ... bought 1000 M2's & halfbacks
  15. Nerd. Yep...the only regular series I watch anymore. Well that and Celeb Rehab... Jim Steven Adler is SO at the top of my 'celebrity deadpool'.
  16. Dude, you can't even kid around about robojo33, without having graemlin( ) backup. That's like saying you used to mainline heroin via shared needles with a south african monkey in 1983 with a straight face, while trying to woo a woman.
  17. Kudos go out to CheezyWhiz for a great slabbed counterfeit Cerebus #1. Great packaging with timely shipping... and once my business partner robojo33 cracks it and sells it as a raw original, I'll be rich! *cough* Wait, what?
  18. Kudos to electricprune for a solid copy of HoS #92, with great packaging & fast shipping. He even held it for me for a couple of weeks as I was light on cash when he put it up for sale. Great seller & easy to work with!
  19. ...I'd like echo what Marc said re: kain76. Great communication and fast payment on a GL 76 he just bought from me. I thought I was the one who bought your GL 76 two days ago.....
  20. Major kudos to Lebowski . The packaging and grading were spot on, but this cat deserves kudos for more than that. I bought a metric buttload (I measured) of books from many sellers at the same time, and accidentally paid him twice. The abiding one caught it and refunded the money before I ever even noticed, and to be honest, I probably never would have noticed. Also had great communication during/after the sale. One caveat though, involves his freebies. He gave me a lot of freebies which corresponded to my reading interests, which is great. The bad thing is, he only sent the first issue of the series. I suspect this is a sneaky move to get me hooked on more books, the rest of the run he'll sell to me later at a premium! It's like crack, the first hit is free.
  21. I've been very remiss in recognizing all of the great sellers who I've bought from, so tonight I went through all my old PM's, and now I give credit where credit is due. Everyone in bold was a solid seller, and everyone in bold with a description was a solid seller, & memorable (more recent). I'll try to stay more recent from now on, this list encompasses everything I've bought since I joined this forum (sorry!). mjacobs8 The Resurrection mister_not_so_nice topofthetotem Kramerica ft88 pinball Transplant gcox inconceivable BigMike October Allof these cats rocked, shipped & graded well. ArAich - Sent me 'Wolverine: Origin' MS in HG for a reasonable price, even held them for me, when I didn't have the scratch. Mr.Diggler - Great books and a great guy to chat with. I forgive him for including 'Hey, Boss!' as a freebie. cd4ever - CD4's threads are fun, and I don't mind spending money there. Can go way offtopic & banter about pointless stuff. Also, fast shipping & great packaging. TupennyConan - Dude sold me the Killdozer comic in fairly HG...KILLDOZER! Come on, people! Hotflips - Jeff has been awesome with answering questions related to his products, and the orders are fast and accurate. mstrange - Sold me everything Ennis has done with Frank, and at a loss on cover price. Great packaging too! Dale Roberts - Either Dale undergrades, or I'm going blind. Stuff he has labeled as a 9.4, I can't find a single flaw. I bought $280 of moderns from him, and I'd bet they all grade at least 9.6! electricprune - Very easygoing seller, low shipping costs, great packaging. I'm not just saying this because he's holding a House of Secrets #92 for me (he is). I bought a HG CGC first app of the Creeper for $50 from the guy, and I got it 3 days later. Just a nice guy all around. blue808 - Bulletproof packaging. I buy so much from the selling forums (and I'm pretty new here, so I don't know the RL names of most of the sellers), I have no idea what's in the packages I get. This one, after I slew the horde of packing peanuts, I had to take down the layers of tape and cardboard. Luckily, Blue didn't have any tape on the actual comic's bag, so I rescued the FF #49. Perfect condition. oneasian - Sold me the Cyclops figure that his fiancee made. It's just as awesome in real life as it looked in the pics he posted. sborock - Sold me the single most expensive purchase I've ever made, a UXM #94 slab for $595. He also sold me a Fantasy Quarterly #1, which he also agreed to drop off @ CGC for slabbing. Steve rocks.
