  1. Not even if you found this one in your bathtub?
  2. Kudos for using a statistical term correctly!
  3. Fine...but since this is a community issue...we're going to need you to post all of those PM's publicly tomorrow so we can analyze them. Yes, we also need to know your whereabouts on the date the sale to Bat-Man was finalized, and people to corroborate your alibi. For all we know, you're Bat-Man, and this is just a smear campaign against Yannis!
  4. Eh, just ignore Subliminal, he's trolling. As I said in an earlier post, he's seeking schadenfreude. So you're on his "OMG, NEVER SELL TO THIS PERSON" list, who cares. His posts in this thread have placed him on my "OMG, NEVER BUY FROM THIS PERSON, HE'S A TOOL" list. It all evens out. Kinda sad, because I liked his posts before this debacle.
  5. Agreed. To me, it read like "Screw you guys, I'm going home!"
  6. I just want to say "tell us WTF you agreed upon TO THE LETTER" You took it to the people and now the people want to hear the conclusion. You can't just use us for your own satisfaction and leave us hanging. That's not how a community works. As far as I'm concerned you are both on my probation list until time stands still if you don't cough up the details. Don't bother buying from me, nor will I buy from you. I'm happy that you came to an S & M type happy conclusion but someone give me my time back for 70 pages of selling research wasted by members agreeing in private that they aren't despicable to try to escape being put on the probation list in the end. Damn dude, that's pretty harsh. I can understand that you want a solid denouement, but it wasn't your money, and if the the aggrieved party (Matt) wants to let it drop, so be it. No one held a gun to your head and made you read this thread in its entirety; you aren't owed the transaction's final details. The publicly posted gist of it is that Matt's not happy and will probably never deal with the seller again. Do you really need to see screencaps of private messages to sleep at night? I agree that there were some shady goings-on, but I don't need, or want, to see every dirty detail. From the information posted, I've determined that time payments with Yannis are a terrible idea, and that if I see a pre-Robin 'Tec I'll keep Matt in mind. What other reason for more information is required, other than schadenfreude?
  7. Surely the guy was already living as a woman before he became 'Faith'? I thought that was one of the requirements for gender reassignment surgery; not to mention he was surely on hormones for a long time before that. At any rate, the stalking bit is disturbing. If they're roughly the same size, buy her a weapon to carry in case Faith decides to go 'Buffalo Bill' on her. It puts the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again!
  8. I'm sorry you are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wrong and I will leave it at that. are you a female? I'm guessing not..therefore you may not know how good we are at multi-tasking Are you a male? I'm guessing not...therefore you may not know how good we are at multi-tasking. See, it works both ways. that would be true if I said that men couldn't multi-task....but I didn't so Ah, but you said females are the best multi-taskers, which intimated that men are inferior to women when it comes to multi-tasking. You then stated that a man cannot know how well a woman multi-tasks because he is not female himself. If a man cannot know how well a woman multi-tasks because he is a man, how can you make a blanket statement that women are the best multi-taskers? You're a female, and by your own statements one gender cannot know how well the other gender multi-tasks, and thereby declare which is superior. We need to find a post-op transsexual to settle this matter.
  10. The entire CFP! As long as you aren't built like 'returner', OK. I thought we was pals
  11. Someone should really consider renting out a gym for a day near one of the next big cons to settle these online beefs. Pad everyone up and let 'em at each other with padded pugil sticks, hilarity will ensue. No one would get seriously hurt, and admission/DVD sales would cover the costs. Dr. Frankenstein v MCMiles! Pirate v. thecollector! Lewbowski v. RockMyAmadeus! Capfreak v. The entire CGC forum! Like celebrity boxing, but geekier.
  12. It was indeed yanked, or at least all of the good parts of it were. I'm surprised I didn't get a strike for that one (I'm the guy who gave MUSCLESHARK my address & phone number).
  13. I'm willing to throw up a good book to bring a crook down. Start bidding at .99, or whatever you please. Shipping is $9.00, double-boxed priority mail in the US with insurance. I'd cover the shipping myself, but I'm a wee bit unemployed at the moment, and have been for some time. However, taking down the Dupcak empire is a worthy enterprise, and one I'll gladly donate a slab to.
  14. Well, my coupon for three free subs was about to expire, so it was "use it or lose it" time. I could have submitted some expensive books, which is what any normal person would do. I instead chose to sub one because it had a snazzy cover, the other two because they make me smile. The snazzy cover book (bought on the boards from Dale Roberts): The first silly book, also bought on these boards from Tupenny Conan: The second silly book, and one of the best covers of all time: It's also the lowest graded copy on the census by a long shot, but I love it anyway!
  15. You can buy parchment paper from the supermarket, too. (In the same aisle where you find the aluminum foil and plastic wrap.) It's essentially the same thing as the silicone release paper that conservators use. Their are cheaper substitutes but why would you want to use them? **Look up the word "cheapskate". Dude, I just bought a roll of SRP for under $50 shipped. 26" X 60'. You can find it HERE. That's enough to do around 100 comics, if you only used each cutting once. I've found I can get more than one usage out of each cutting. As far as your waffling issue, put something between the rubber mat and the book/SRP/etc. I went to a local metal shop and got a piece of aluminum cut to the dimensions of my press; cost me $15.
  16. ordered them from a curio cab maker... actually need a third, but have to save up first to buy Really? Looking at your collection/purchases I thought you had money growing on the trees in your back yard... The Dentist cornered the market on money trees. Rick's stuck with his money bushes and a nice little money hedge in the back yard.
  17. When your hair hangs down like one of the Monkeys, it's called a "Cap_Freak." But you have to maintain a really silly look when you go full Cap_Freak. There's no chance of going part-way and pulling it off. You're forgetting the slack jaw. Gotta have your mouth slightly open at all times, so the flies know where to go.
  18. That would be pretty sweet. "Fanboys made good!" Not just limited to those who eventually found work in the industry, but also those who hit it big via other venues, like George R.R. Martin, who I mentioned earlier.
  19. Apparently McFarlane really liked HoM. I was reading HoM #302, and guess who popped up again in the letter column? P.S. For any McFarlane haters out there, don't get on his bad side. Apparently he had a 23-foot long Sabre-Tooth tiger back in '82, how big it is now is anybody's guess.
  20. Drat, I was afraid of that. I could have sworn I saw a Dave Cockrum fan letter in an early issue of X-Men, too.
  21. I was flipping through a recent acquisition, a 'House of Mystery' #300, when a name at the bottom of a fan letter jumped out at me: Think it's 'our' Todd McFarlane? The address and his focus on the art seem to be strong indicators. At any rate, what are some other letters from fans who 'made good'? If possible, share a scan or pic of them, please. I know I'd like to acquire a Fantastic Four #20, for example, since that contains George R.R. Martin's first 'published work'. Apologies if this has been done before, but the search engine doesn't like me, and I don't particularly like it either.
  22. Prison? He's gonna go play in the sand and fight off camel spiders for a while. Stay safe, Hector.
  23. Since you live in the states MR COMICBOOK, go to usps com and order some priority mail boxes for cardboard. You can order up to 500 at one time, and they are FREE. No-cost shipping, too. I accidentally ordered some FPO boxes, and I use those for cardboard sandwiches.
  24. I hope with all my heart that either Steve or Heritage take you up on this. This kid needs some sort of an intervention, stat! Steve: you aren't doing him any favors by not seeking legal recourse. The boy WILL wind up in prison sooner or later, but a stint in boot camp now might mitigate that. The fact that he'll get that stupid haircut sheared off is just icing on the cake.
