These two paperbacks are anthologies. One has excerpts from popular myths and the other is a collection of short stories. -

I started by looking for fantasy books after finishing Lord of The Rings. I read Lin Carter's book Tolkien: A Look Behind The LOTR. It helped me in my search for other authors to read. So the Ballantine series sent me on my path. -

The address of The Chilton Company is different than the original on the back flap. This was so cool to see a signed first edition of Dune. Do you own different printings? -

The cover for The Wood Beyond The World looks like Gervasio Gallardo's artwork. He really did some nice covers for the series. -

I have looked at the website and the price for the fifth edition is $7.95 on the cover flap. Mine is $5.95. What a strange history for this book. -

Thanks for the information. I tried looking at booksellers listings and the photos they provided to see I could match any. -

So when is a stated first edition not the true one? I already know that my copy isn't the first edition of Dune one of my favorite books but it took some time to find that out. I bought this copy for $6.19 at Waldenbooks many years ago; and I was skeptical at the time but it wasn't until the internet age that I found the criteria that it needed to be the true first edition. The price on the flap was correct and states first edition. The last one that it didn't pass was the boards. Those had to be light blue. I love this edition and it is in great shape and I am still not sure what printing it is. That's okay. -

This is the start of my collection of the Ballantine Adult Fantasy series edited by Lin Carter. This series was instrumental in allowing me to discover other fantasy authors. -

It is not in the best of shape but looks pretty good even with that cover crease across the front cover. What paperbacks are acceptable to post here? -

I have this one and another(that I will post tomorrow) of the fantasy illustrators series books from Gerry de la Ree. No Virgil Finlay's books 1 & 2 yet. Saw one copy of book 1 but didn't want to pay such a high price. -

My most recent purchase of this book in "good" condition. It is worn at the top of the boards but the DJ looks good.
