  1. I know this is a very general question, but I was going to have a local presser do some books for me, but probably wouldn’t send them right away. Will they start to revert back to their pre-pressed conditions slightly? Is it a good idea to have CGC press them again right before grading or can too many presses hurt a book, even if done properly? I would think a book being graded just days after a pressing would present better than a book pressed 6 months before grading. Thanks for any input.
  2. What kind of improvement might I get if I have it pressed? I figure most of the defects won’t be helped with that.
  3. Thinking about buying this book raw from my LCS but I’m not sure what the grade would be or even what a fair price would be. Any help with grade or price would be appreciated. Thanks. Here’s a bunch of photos.
  4. Tried to catch the spine ticks in the light. Thanks again.
  5. Biggest problems I see are slight crease in UR and the major crease in LR. Spine seems pretty good with a few spine ticks, but if it’s a white spine, are they color breaking? Should the ticks on the spine press out? Any help would be appreciated.
  6. At some point, don’t we need to grade the book itself? It may be a manufacturers defect, but it takes away from the appearance and the quality of the book. If you had two books with the same grade and one had this defect and one did not, which would you choose? Why would you pick that one? There’s your answer. It is a nicer book without the defect no matter where the defect comes from, it’s still a defect.
  7. Can I send mine in to CCS first to get it pressed?
  8. Do you have a copy of the receipt that may show the weight of the package when you sent it? That would prove there was something in it when it left your hands.
  9. She’s had a few new covers lately. These are the 2 I snagged last week.
  10. Thanks. What do you think it could get to with a C&P?
  11. These are my friends books who got them as a kid in the 70’s and doesn’t follow anything in the comics world. Looks like he read the hell out of them but hasn’t looked at them for 40 years. Brought them to me in a plastic bag. He told me he had a Spider-Man #1 and thinks he might retire early with these.😆 I told them they were good books but in very average condition. Wondering what a C&P might get them up to. Thanks for the help. These middle of the road books are harder for me to judge. Didn’t realize that these Bronze aged books had so many white back covers that were difficult to keep clean.
  12. Dirty back cover with a nice crease and slight tear at the top.
  13. My buddy gave me a couple of old books he wanted my opinion on. Hoping for a little help here. Definitely needs a C&P. Hope these are worth grading.
