  1. Those nice displays, printing the sketchbooks, the drawing materials, the paper, shipping items to the convention, all of those cost money regardless of travel expenses being factored into the equation. Yep, those costs are not fun. Also with the case of published, working creators, the convention takes time away from the gig that's making them their regular paycheck. no comment Basically it's silly to rip on a creator for making money for his time or talent at a convention when there's no way to know how much they might be out of pocket just to be there. don't have a problem with a creator making money, but a creator charging for a signature is a bit much to me.
  2. just stating that as a blanket statement, that is not true.
  3. or the auction of a gauranteed sketch at $735? why not just get books ss himself? seriously. cut out the flippers and do it yourself? that is what i would do if i had a big enough name....
  4. I don't get sigs to sell, so paying for a sig is a turn off to me unless it is a big name (as in legendary). Unfortunately, in this age of collecting there are people who make loads of money off of creators sigs. And yes I. did sell the sketched wd books for more than what I paid, but I wasn't the one who got the books ss in the first place. I paid inflated prices to obtain the books in the first place. For comic creators to charge for something that has been free for as long as the hobby has been around is a bit tough to swallow, esp when creators on the same book still charge nothing. Just my flawed 2 bits
  5. i will have some interesting news regarding the walking dead in about a week...
  6. pm me your email addy jimmers and i'll send a file of my comic book and some other stuff too...
  7. it's worth it on blu, the graininess is part of the feel, granted it was shot in 1080i and it was a ok transfer. it still looks worlds above the regular 480p that the dvd maxes out at. even with upscaling to 1080p the depth of the picture cannot come anywhere close to the worst looking blu ray. also, when it comes to hd, you have to have your tv at the most optimal settings to get the best results. i worked with hd since it came out and the brand of tv makes a huge difference too.
  8. i bought it on blu the week it was released, it was only $20. and well worth it. then again i'm the that bought the day of the dead remake the day it was released too, and i still hate myself for that one....
  9. got my first 9.9 (chew #1 4th print), 10 other 9.8 chew books and a 9.8 tales from the dead #1 (my first label appearance, i was much more excited than my wife was), not a bad day!
  10. Do you really want to be #2 to a canadian?
  11. And w00t! I'm #4 on the registry. Still have a bunch o books sent to be graded too (incl my #1 1st print). I can't beat branget, but atleast I'll be #2 (@ 9 curics)
  12. This isn't the first time that they haven't pulled books that I asked for. Problem is, pretty much the only place in town, the other place is just as bad. Plus I've gotten books with creases and tears in the spine and I had to pull other copies myself that weren't screwed up. I don't ask for much but if I've been going there for almost 15 years and I get no discounts at all, I should get good copies of the books I'm buying.
  13. i get to my lcs last week and they sold out of the -script book, i'm thinking cool, chew is on my pull list so i should still have a copy... wrong,no copies, so i had to jump on teh interwebz to get a copy, about ready to bust it open...
  14. So, I have completed all deals, I thought I would have been taken off weeks ago?
