what the writers are doing is to set shane up for his eventual death. since they didn't follow the book with his death, they will incorporate his death in another way. i think it will be based around what seems to be a growing obsession with lori and carl (he wants to be rick) and he will slowly fall further into delusion where he will do anything to make them HIS family and not rick's. just not sure exactly how and who will kill him. maybe they'll give him a "heroic" death by sacrificing himself to save the others in an attack to allow them to get away, possibly to make up for his actions. the sad thing is, i like his character than rick's on the show. he's not one sided as rick's character has been so far. i have to say, the first 2 epi's did nothing for me, now it is improving drastically starting with this epi.

i do agree with you doug, except with the change in media from comics to t.v., a comic can be slow and still be interesting, but when you move to t.v. and go from a 5-10 min. read to 45-47 minutes, the pace has to be picked up a little to keep the story progressing/flowing. this is the biggest issue i have with this season so far. it is too slow like the book. it is sad because i ahve been a fan since the beginning and the first season (save for a stray episode) was everything i expected to be. the book had a quick start and the series followed suit. now the series is a bit meandering so far but it is also only 2 in of 13 total. so i hope that the pace picks up. the transistion from book to screen has been excellent so far, i just want a bit more action and less soap opera.

we could always hope. but i really don't see him dying, the basis of the title since the prison is rick protecting (grooming?) carl. but if he did, that would be great...

i just find the last 2 episodes to be rather....boring. the only scenes that really grabbed me were the highway and the first part of the school. Tension! that gets my attention, not talking to a wooden jesus or having to be convinced to stay when rick is the only match with worthless' blood type. rick is a , andrea is a , shane is becoming less dickish, t-dog is still annoying, hershel is cool and i will be sad when he dies, lori is a bunt, but replace the b with a c, maggie is cute and daryl is still the only character that i don't want to see dead (besides hershel and glenn). atleast next episode with have the real living dead and not the dead still living. just finding the main characters uninteresting and boring. i'm dying for a bloodbath, it is not coming fast enough.

the creators own the property. i'm sure there is a byline in the contract that image gets a cut of any tv/movie/games/ect rights. i'm thinking kirkman and moore each own 50% and adlard may have a bigger cut in the profits

the variant of tales of the dead had a print run of 10 that i put out last year. it is certainly not a 1 of 1 but it is a variant that was 1:10 print ratio of a limited 100 book run.

if it ias the scene inthe trailer i'm thinking of, it wasn't the prison, the quick shot was actually in sunday's epi. i thought it was the prison too, but seeing the scene in the most recent show, kind of stopped that idea.

i've finally figured out what i want to focus on my collecting... indy and undergrounds... took me long enough, but the standard mainstream books have really made me not care much anymore and i was on the verge of giving up collecting altogether. then i saw the cover to death rattle #3 (72 series) and thought, this is something i really like, it's not slick art, just really cool. so with that i say...fart

don't read the spoilers or you will find out people die & get shot & zombie eaten I've read the first 9 graphic novel reprints. Its funny, for the first time in my life I'm starting to pay attention to the writing more than the art how it should have always been...
