anyone have any updates on cap_freak? anybody receive their books or $$ back since the meltdown? i'm coming up on the 30 day mark for paypal and i need to make a decision about filing a dispute to get my money back...

I would also like to speak on Adams behalf.

 

I spent approximately $550.00 on 2 GA All-Stars with Adam. We made arrangements for time payments. I figured it would be no sweat, and we proceeded with the transaction. Well no less than 3 weeks later I lost my job. I had to delay on payments, had other issues. And not 1 single time did Adam make me uncomfortable. It took alot longer than I had hoped, but I finally finished the transaction after awhile. I kept in contact, sent payment when I could and let him know I was doing what I could. In the end, he received his money and I got my books.

 

I met him this year, and the guy is as nice a guy you could hope to meet. We had some good conversation, and everything ends with a happy ending.

 

In the end. I have to say Thank You Adam. You are one of the nicest and most reasonable people in this hobby, and I have my grail because of your understanding.

 

So to hear someone did this, I am a bit surprised..

i second that, adam is great and let me pay when i could for the batman 23 from a few months back (but i was a da instead of trying to track him down myself i posted a milk carton ad in the for sale threads)

with the deal that i have with him, it has not finalized yet and he hasn't burnt me (as i did not pay in full for the book, broke it into 2 seperate payments) so i'm not out the full $225, and he did ask if he could send the book and me pay the balance after receipt of the book. i agreed on that no problem.

so we shall see where it goes.

I think it is not the amount that matters. It is the approach and handling of the situation. There must have been over 10 buyers on that last thread because the prices were so incredible.

 

Know what I mean? We start saying complaints shouldn't occur unless it is a certain dollar amount, you let someone build up the courage to start pushing the envelope, but never to that amount.

i just wanted to know where everybody else stood is all. i was hoping that i was the one on the hook for the most and no one has more put into this than that.

i know it is the principle of the act, not the amount of money spent.

i really don't have a problem with someone's age, when i was a kid and doing the baseball and hockey card thing, i would sell to guys in their fifities when i wasn't even old enough to drive. so age doesn't mean anything if they can back it up.

i'm only 33 and there are some people 3 to 5 times connor's age that i dispise dealing with. i just think he's a kid that had some bad things happen and i just hope he can overcome this and make right to be welcomed back to the boards.

Yep that's real bad form. Knowingly owing people money/books then having the minerals to come on here to buy? If it was me who he owed I know for a fact I'd be truly pissed at that.

 

The fact he's ignoring people about it just doubles the already big problem.

i did put a post in the thread stating that he has to make right first before he can buy or sell anymore.

when it comes to his age, I didn't know he was under 18 (my fault, it didn't even occur to me that there were members under 18 on here).

I hope that everything works out for everyone as connor does not seem like the typical grab and run kid (he did pm me about our deal for one of his bat books). i'm not trying to defend him, that is his responsiblity if he wants to try or not. but we do need to keep the rules enforced so situations that go bad are kept to a minimum.

even though i've only been here since october, i've tried to build and keep my rep as high as possible because this is one of the coolest places i've ever found for comics and to get kicked off would suck.

i agree tthat it would probably be best incorporated into the want to buy area, maybe convolute that as well by having 10 different sub categories in the wtb area.

but it feels like it would be a better fit in the wtb area to me, but then again i am no one.

It was small transactions spread across quite a few buyers. But what makes it bothersome is when contacted, he was reassuring they were shipped.

 

I really am hoping he jumps online and sends a message everything is going to be resolved.

i hope it works out as i have a deal with him right now that i agreed to prior to these posts.

Does any body think that its worth while to save up those "coming soon" or "watch

for" postcards most lcs have by the register?I have been for ever ,and will keep doing so,but should I bother grabbing a few extra?
