  1. Ya, a less than 15M weekend internationally seems quite low after a nearly 20M Monday - Thursday. Looks like it took a hit from Aladdin. Made about 0.5M less than Infinity War this weekend also & still 100.4M behind Avatar.
  2. They did mention Luke Cage & Karen Page in the last episode of Cloak & Dagger, so who knows if Marvel has something else planned for the Netflix characters.
  3. Season 4 was probably the best thus far. Looking forward to a season 5.
  4. I still think it has little impact on the trade War. Maybe it would have made another 50M - 100M. I think Infinity War did 30M - 40M during it’s extension. It’s also likely they don’t want Endgame being the # 2 movie to be released in China. Again, China would be hurting their own revenue stream more than America’s. If it’s really about the trade war, they will pull all American movies to make a clear point. Just like they locked up 2 Canadians in death penalty cases after Canada didn’t comply with their demand to release Meng Wanzhou.
  5. It is looking a little more likely to match Avatar. Made nearly 20M Monday - Thursday internationally (dropping around 35% from last week), probably 25M+ this weekend & another 18M - 20M domestically by Memorial Day also.
  6. That's the 1st I've read about previous Avengers movies lasting 2 months in China or 3 months for Infinity War. I'm pretty sure the general rule is opening weekend + 4 weeks on films that do well, while some get pulled in 2 - 3 weeks. I believe Avengers 1 & 2 lasted 5 weeks each & Infinity War lasted opening weekend + 8 weeks (59 days). It seems like Furious 7 (5 weeks) & FotF (opening weekend + 9 weeks / 65 days) were given extensions also, but it's rare they keep anything past 1 month. They only played the first Harry Potter films for 1 week & jumped to 38 days with Deathly Hallows 1, then 46 days for part 2. Fantastic Beasts was 59 days (11/25/16 - 1/22/17) but Doctor Strange was pulled after 31 days (11/4/16 - 12/4/16) around the same time, even though DS made 109M+ while FB made just under 86M. Crimes of Grindelwald dropped to 31 days at 57M+. So the extensions they offer seem to be somewhat random. Pulling Endgame after 1 month has literally no impact on the US government, so I don't buy it being about the trade war. The 25% take that the studio would get & then pay taxes on is minimal. Preventing US import films in China would seem more like a statement on the trade war, but it would hurt the box office & Chinese government in terms of taxes more than it ever would America.
  7. A multiverse by definition has unlimited potential realities. The idea that Stark’s snap transferred everyone back to 2014 when we see Thanos & his crew turned to dust, honestly makes no sense to me. They would have just disappeared. The fact that Thanos & all the villains from Infinity War are dead prior to that movie taking place, created a major shift imo. Agents of SHIELD is already incorporating the multiverse into this season. It created a fracture between universes that’s allowing people to travel between them, from what Fury said in the new Spidey trailer.
  8. It was a Holiday in Canada that gave it the boost. Will be the same next Monday in the US for Memorial Day.
  9. Looks like Endgame had a really good Victoria Day with 3.16M, which is 450k above what Infinity War did. Seems like a more descent drop International at 4M than I expected also.
  10. If TH was promised an extra 5M for IM2 & got 3.5M cut instead, I don’t think anyone can put the blame on him. If he didn’t go to court with Disney over this, I guess there was no contract stipulating those #’s for IM2. They didn’t even own Marvel when IM came out, but I am curious. He should have taken the cut though, considering what he would have made down the line. I’m sure RDJ could have helped by saying he would walk away unless TH was paid what they promised, but I guess he didn’t want to rock the boat after receiving a huge bump in pay.
  11. It's crazy that as big a sensation & box office hit as Endgame is, it might only last 10 - 12 weeks at many International locations.
  12. I wonder if the International weekend of 46.8M includes Thursday, because BOM has it at $1,793,400,000 as of Wednesday. That would mean it was more like 40M or less from Fri - Sun, down another 60% from nearly 100M last weekend. Down to nearly 70M this past week from around 200M last week. So probably another 25M - 30M Internationally by next Sunday at this pace. Should be another 30M domestic with Victoria Day tomorrow & Memorial day on the 27th, so roughly 2.67B worldwide by then. It's going to be very close to Avatar but won't pass it. It would need very small drops over the next few weeks worldwide, which seems unlikely at this point.
  13. Another possibility I've considered is they do actually have a trilogy planned starting with her time in Russia, how she met Hawkeye, her introduction to SHEILD, leading to the events after Civil War & Stan only has info on the one film he's set star in.
  14. All solo MCU trilogies have had that same trajectory. Not sure if Black Panther 2 will top the box office of it’s predecessor though, which would be the 1st exception in the franchise.
  15. Did the extra footage shot for Iron Man 3 extend the films screen time in China? I don’t think you can equate good box office or good will to the extension as they haven’t offered it to any other MCU film I’m aware of. Do you know of any list of import films that have been granted extensions like Infinity War?
  16. It’s my own opinion, since population control is an idea the Chinese have engrained in their current society. They have raised there 1 child per couple limit to 2 because of the aging population but impose heavy taxes to discourage further pregnancies. Other countries offer child welfare to encourage births. Do you know of any list of import films that have been granted extensions like Infinity War?
  17. I guess this means Winter Soldier is in the film, otherwise I doubt he would have this information.
  18. I think they extended Infinity War because the Chinese government identifies with it’s message of population control. I honestly never expected the same for Endgame, which essentially deals with killing the enforcer of said population control & reversing it. I really doubt it has anything to do with the trade war.
  19. I saw it earlier today & really enjoyed it.
  20. Both Avatar & Titanic we’re out for 8 - 10 months but the majority of the domestic box office came in 16 weeks for Avatar, but Titanic was still making 10M+ each after 16 weeks & still stayed strong for a few more months. Not sure about International BO but some countries played them nearly as long. It’s still dipping more than 50% at less than 10M on weekdays, so I expect around 770 domestic & 1850 International at best, maybe only 2.6B worldwide by Sunday. Probably another 2+ weeks to reach 2.7B & crawl another 30M - 50M over a few months. Hopefully it will get a nice bump worldwide when Spidey 2 comes out.
  21. Just got home from seeing it again. I find that I've enjoyed it more, every time I watch this film. Doesn't look like it will reach Avatar at this rate though, but should make it close. Infinity War made another 126 million domestically after day 18 but Endgame's #'s seem to be sinking like the Titanic. It's doing as well as Infinity War did on week 3, so anything is possible. It needs a few strong weeks ahead though & a big Memorial Day weekend.
