Marf, you have a lot of nice issues. Where did you get all of these from?

I'd be a happy with a .5 bump and the book presenting better (i.e. cleaned). Anything above a .5 bump would be gravy imo.
Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I have a 6.5 & we could quibble about the defects of each on how they impact the grade, but I think my 6.5 presents better than this. With that in mind, I think there's a risk here. What was the date this was graded originally?
I gambled on this one with the expectation that it will clean up nicely and that the "creases" mentioned in the notes will mostly clear up. The book was graded in August 2022 so a relatively recent submission.

What's it graded at? Do you have the grader notes?
I just edited the original post to include the notes and grade (6.5). Thanks

9.0 Lots of TLC required on this book and the corner wear won't get it up to 9.6

Thanks. I suspect it might be too much pressure. Will another press help?

I'm a newb to DIY pressing. I use a pro, @joeypost for anything of value to me, and I'm working on lower value books on my own. Question, my books are coming out wavy and I suspect I am applying too much pressure using the clamshell press. What type of grade impact do waves have on books. Thanks!
-
I recently purchased a clamshell press, and I have pressed about 20-30 books so far. I've noticed that several of them show wavy pages after bag/boarding. Attached are a couple of examples.
Pressed at 160 F for 10 minutes, cold pressed (1/8 inch metal plates for 12 hours)
I am located in Austin, TX area where we have a decent amount of humidity.Pictures attached:
Joker issue (1975)
Dredd issue (1984)A couple of questions for the group here:
* How does waviness affect a CGC score?
* What is the best way to fix books that have this problem after press?
* What can I do to avoid having this problem in the first place. Thanks for your insight!

Thanks guys. I am sending in other books to grade and a couple of older slabs to re-holder. I don't like the scratches on this one nor the label so it's going to hitch a ride with the other submissions. I appreciate all of the feedback!

I just received this slab from USPS off of ebay. The posting showed the scratch (see picture) on the slab, and I was planning on getting it reholdered since it is an older slab. The scratch appears to be on the *inside of the case* and there are some cracks along the exterior. Does this look like tampering or is it just stress cracking? In your opinions, will this require a regrade or will CGC simply reholder it? Thanks for your input!

Appreciate the feedback @grendelbo

I pulled the exterior staples. The center page is/was detached (explaining the extra staples).
The grade is in: PGM: Batman 423
in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?

The grade is in: 9.2 (notes attached). I performed my own pressing so I'm sure a pro could have bumped this perhaps to 9.4/9.6.
