  1. I'm not sure -- it does look like both original staples are present (one of the photos above shows the top bind staple, the bottom staple I did not post a picture of). I'm tempted to remove the two staples punched from the back of the book. Thoughts on whether this is worth it or not?
  2. All -- Noobie question here: It looks like this book that I picked up has new staples put into the back of the book that protrude through the front (see photos). Based upon the overall condition of the book and these new staples what type of grade am I look at here? Would there be any benefit to professionally C&Ping this book or is an at-home press the way to go with this book in its condition? Thanks for the input.
  3. My friend showed me his DD #1 and it looks nice. What do you all think this would grade at? Thank you!
  4. Another PC candidate. 7.5? 8.0? Or am I being too hopeful (it's happened before). Will C&P give it a bump? Thanks for your input!!
  5. Another one for my PC. What do you all think? Thanks for the feedback! s
  6. Looking to slab this for my PC. What are your thoughts on a possible grade before/after @joeypost C&Ps this? Thanks!!
  7. Thanks for all of the responses. Will C&P make any difference in this condition?
  8. Another rough copy. Where does this one stand before/after C&P? Thank you for your insights!
  9. Picked up this rough copy. What is the group's thoughts on possible pre-cleanup and post-cleanup grade? Thanks for your input!
  10. A buddy of mine hasn't signed up for the forums, but he wanted me to post a PGM for him. Thoughts on the grade on this book. Is the right edge considered the "marvel chipping" or is this just a plain-jane tear? Thanks for the input!
  11. Note there are some fuzzy fibers on the right bottom corner photo.
  12. Picked this up recently. What are your thoughts? How much would a C&P help, if any? Thanks for your feedback!
  13. I received this copy today and it contains a black streak along the top edge of the comic. Is this a "remainder mark" and how much of a hit will this book take when grading? Thanks for your help!
  14. Thanks @MrRoboto and AhsokaTano - I've attached a picture of the back cover. I've also updated the pictures to show the "10" spot wiped down. Does that change your grade any? Will C&P be able to help with the ink or overall grade. THanks!
  15. Thanks again for all of the help grading some of my other comics. I came across several Detective Comics in the 400s range that have a "10" ink marking over the "Approved by the Comics Code Authority" emblem. What would a book like this (#411) grade at with this defect? Update: It looks like the marking can be mostly wiped with a microfiber towel. I don't want to mess with it too much, but will the rest of that ink come out during a C&P?
  16. Considering if this book is worth C&P and grading or not. Thanks for your input.
  17. Experts -- I am looking to C&P and submit this book. What are all of your thoughts? Thanks for your input!
  18. Sorry. Yes the cardboard is warped. Thanks for the feedback.
  19. Thanks to everyone for advice on how to properly post a PGM request. I picked up a lot of Star Wars #1 and this one is a representative sample. I plan to C&P with @joeypost but I wanted to get the group's thoughts on before and after grades for these books. Below are pictures of one of them. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
  20. I picked up several copies of this book at an estate sale. Here are some of the online photos from the sale. I have not received these yet but I'm curious what the possible cleaned/pressed grades on these could possibly be. Thanks for your feedback!
  21. Thanks for all the feedback here. This is going in my PC, so investment consideration is limited.
  22. That's what I was thinking. It's a good option for a small business that doesn't have the space or doesn't want to hold the liability of a large backlog of people's expensive books.
