  1. I’ve seen from your slabs that you’re a big fan.
  2. It would make sense if it was a promotional comic published by Marlboro, of course.
  3. He also seems to be wearing high heels. Doesn’t strike me as being very practical footwear for a cowboy.
  4. Also, his masterwork upon returning to Marvel; Devil Dinosaur.
  5. A pretty much perfect BA story, with a great ending. Exceptional.
  6. Steve Gerber is my favourite BA Defenders writer. Introduced The Headmen. Extremely creative. His Fear / Man-Thing run is great. Omega The Unknown is an interesting read as well.
  7. He was brilliant. With Byrne, even better.
  8. Roy Thomas and John Buscema worked well together, matched with an artist of incredible range, capable of depicting both super-heroics in The Avengers and barbarian adventures in Conan.
  9. Happy memories of reading Conan as a kid, and Savage Sword as well. The first long run of comics I assembled, from 1 to 100.
  10. Very fond of his work on Avengers and Conan.
  11. Alan Moore I see primarily as being Copper Age onwards.
  12. Claremont / Byrne Gerber Miller Englehart
  13. Just had a look on GCD. I thought it was the one with the Wally Wood atom bomb story. Completely wrong. That was Two-Fisted Tales 33.
  14. Only have the Byrne issues. Otherwise, the interior art was a deterrent. Nice Gil Kane cover.
  15. I quickly lost interest after New Mutants and stopped buying his books, missing Youngblood 1 onwards. To the best of my recollection, I haven't bought anything of his since.
  16. Reading the article, Diamond's cash flow problems seem to be a big concern, and DC's actions a move towards greater long-term distribution stability in the physical market, not necessarily foreshadowing a transition to digital. Basically, finding someone else more reliable who can do the job better. And, that's understandable.
  17. Palmer's one of the most talented inkers ever to work in comics. John Buscema, Neal Adams, Gil Kane, Gene Colan - never failed to enhance the pencil artwork.
  18. Yup. Possibly a little overshadowed by Wrightson at DC, but still highly regarded. I recently read his Werewolf and Ghost Rider issues again, and although his later artwork started to more closely resemble Wrightson's style, I'd forgotten just how much of his earlier work closely resembled that of his mentor, Will Eisner. A noticeable change from urban noir to gothic in tone.
  19. Marvel’s Filipino artists were very talented guys. The same influx included Nino and Gan as well. There’s one other, not yet mentioned, that I’ll leave open.
  20. Frank Brunner has always been recognised as a great artist, same with Rogers and Gulacy. Someone I believe really is underrated is Keith Pollard, who did superb work on Thor's Eternals and Ragnarok / Ring Cycle Saga. Also, I'll add Alex Nino and Steve Gan.
