  1. Reminds me of the Panini reprint comics that we got over here after UK distribution of American Marvels stopped.
  2. Some of Guillermo del Toro’s fight scenes in Blade 2 were influenced by Kirby. The UV grenade explosions were his attempt at creating an energetic Kirby Krackle effect on-screen.
  3. I’m waiting for a joke post about Star-Lord vs Ronan the Accuser. I was tempted, I’ll admit.
  4. Batman warehouse fight, from Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice. Wonder Woman vs the German Army in No Man's Land Final battle, Avengers Endgame. Battle on Titan, Avengers Infinity War Superman vs Kryptonians in Smallville, Man of Steel Nightcrawler in the White House, X-Men 2
  5. The series that started off with Grant Morrison's stories, around 1997. It was called JLA, rather than Justice League.
  6. You couldn't really add another panel to that one without a bat giving the game away. Interestingly coincidental guess with Detective Comics.
  7. I concur. Journey Into Mystery starts off very poorly, but once you get into the issues in the 100's it's really consistently entertaining and just gets better and better; Absorbing Man, Hercules / Pluto, Tana Nile and the Colonisers, Ego, Mangog, Origin of Galactus, the slugfest with Him / Warlock. Classic Lee / Kirby material.
  8. The only one I have reprints the early Kirby stories.
  9. It does indicate Silver Age, doesn't it? The art as well.
  10. The costume and that it's a team there. It's the later, second uniform of the Challengers once they stopped wearing the purple jumpsuits.
  11. Despite his small amount of comics work compared to many of the others, I wonder if it's going to be Frazetta? He's pretty much deified here.
  12. Was this the first time you saw Kneel Atoms' artwork?
  13. I never went into hospital when I was a kid. I read a lot of comics while waiting at the dentist, though. Bronze Age Marvels.
  14. Strangely enough, I'm not as familiar with his work. I've never read Golden Age Flash Gordon. I know - that's a bit
  15. I voted. I did include Foster, Caniff and Eisner, though they're more newspaper strip artists, because not only were they brilliant but also were extremely influential on many later comic book artists. Not keen to see Bob Kane listed on the same page or at the same level as these amazing talents.
