  1. I had to think twice when you mentioned it, first thinking back to my metalworking at school. Then, it clicked. Too many comics, too little philately.
  2. More detective work than photographic memory. I just thought about which Avengers enemy might have a power wand.
  3. Yup. Definitely another polarising art style, that has become clear through many comments made over time, though for me he's in the opposing, creative genius category.
  4. That panel narrows it down to a few thousand to start with.
  5. These are just a few scans I have to hand. I also have a nice, raw Savage Tales 1 somewhere as well, around 9.2 / NM-
  6. I'm just in the process of reading Doctor Strange Masterworks. The Englehart stories are really good, the Starlin issues, including that one, are psychedelic drivel from a period when the title was obviously searching for direction.
  7. Lots of quality reading material in there. Very nice selection of books.
  8. The later Moon Knight issues, and his work on New Mutants; Demon Bear, Warlock, Legion.
  9. Excellent panel and story layout, pacing which kept me engrossed from beginning to end. Not without talent. A simple-but-clear style.
  10. He didn’t do that much at DC. His version of Hawkman is classic level, though. Quite brilliant.
  11. In addition, his newspaper strip artwork is actually very nice.
  12. To incite still further, was Robbins really so bad when you compare him to a certain ‘creator’ mentioned in the all-time best list; the infinitely overrated Bob Kane?
  13. Quasar I like the series that was written by Mark Gruenwald.
  14. Always going to be a polarising choice as some of his Iron Man / TOS artwork is excellent.
  15. I had to wait a couple of years to get a copy, as it was one of the issues that wasn't distributed to the UK at the time. (102 to 107, IIRC.)
  16. That was one of the best issues Dave Cockrum ever illustrated, with the Legion of Super-Heroes analogues in the Imperial Guard, and I also suspect that he enjoyed working on it.
  17. Absolutely. Nothing but total admiration for our UK's NHS staff.
