  1. Clangers. A totally brilliant classic from the 70s.
  2. Fantastic artist. I'm another 70s kid who loved his work.
  3. John Byrne came up with the idea that a lot of Superman's powers are telekinetic, such as super-strength being a contact telekinetic force lifting the object, and also as an explanation for his flying ability. I've no real, technical opinion. As the saying goes; I just read these things.
  4. I just sit back here and let Kav explain it to me.
  5. Sorry for being away for a while, but, worryingly, I had a bit of a fever today. Turns out it was short-lived. Not in a terribly competitive mood at present. Maybe have other things on my mind?
  6. In the future, Thompson makes phaser rifles that share a family resemblance to their classic projectile weapon from the early 20th century.
  7. I said that to a supermarket assistant yesterday that they deserved a danger money bonus for what they're doing and what they're exposing themselves to. That has to be respected. And, a special thanks to everyone in our NHS, while I'm on the topic.
  8. Exactly. Even though we're mainly indoors, it's hardly like we've been put into a maximum security prison with a strictly regimented existence. Still free to do whatever we want to, whenever we want to, within those confines. Entertain ourselves as we choose, possessing the technology to easily stay in touch with any developments that occur. The options for us would've been far more limited, and the situation far more overwhelming and scary, if this had occurred thirty or more years ago with a less sophisticated ability to communicate.
  9. Being autistic I have a natural tendency, or ability, to handle protracted social withdrawal, and so it's going to be relatively easy for me to cope with the enforced lockdown. Not the least bit worrying in that respect.
  10. We've just gone into enforced lockdown here in the UK. Totally agree with it.
  11. I agree. There are still too many complete prats out there who haven't modified their behaviour appropriately to meet the demands of the situation. Inhibition is quite necessary.
  12. I was thrown by the colour inaccuracy, and also by the news that the UK's residents have just been ordered into enforced self-isolation.
  13. Half a point at most because you're a Spider-Man expert.
  14. That miserable expression always reminds me of American Gothic, the painting, and he looks about seven foot tall or that he's just been on a stretch rack.
  15. Yup. The energy in the artwork is just incredible. Couldn't have been anyone else.
  16. Well done! I should've guessed from that wheel that it was Jack Kirby.
  17. I'm waiting for guidance on what to do from Gwyneth Paltrow. She's even more sensible and grounded.
  18. Yup. Placing limitations on a system without themselves having much of a clue about how to operate within those newly self-imposed limitations. Quite a while before comics developed creative workarounds, and immediately post-Code the material becomes generic, uninspired and boring to read. Publishers generally seen floundering.
  19. Then there's Infectious Lass, who first appeared in the classic Bates / Cockrum Legion of Super-Heroes, Superboy 201.
