  1. I can go down to 20 Hertz at best, which is really deep bass. Below that, I’m not listening.
  2. This does raise the question of whether subconscious plagiarism occurred; waking up, feeling inspired and that something original is being created when it’s actually based on a buried memory, in this case, of an existing plot.
  3. Other than being AI, quite different, really. Harlan Ellison Time Travel His Outer Limits plots for ‘Soldier’ and ‘Demon With a Glass Hand’, elements of which were copied by The Terminator.
  4. Corn, hemp, bread feed. Leeches wouldn’t be anywhere near as effective.
  5. I used to go coarse freshwater fishing with my father, as a kid. Caught lots of carp. Nothing like those giants.
  6. I've never read that issue. Interesting TV decoration, though.
  7. Yup. Avengers had coasted for a long time before Thomas started writing. And, Buscema's art was great, especially when inked by Klein or Palmer.
  8. I couldn’t continue going to my LCS on a regular basis, from mid 2010 onwards. Health issues, though I did miss, as you said, the Cheers-like social club nature of all the geeks together in one place with a shared interest and obsession. There was a void for several years until I started reading digitally, which, for me, quickly proved to be a great, stimulating alternative and a much-needed method of reconnecting.
  9. I hate the end of the year because of the onset of Seasonal Affective Disorder.
  10. I've always liked those short stories, especially the way they link in the ancient civilisations elsewhere in the outer solar system on Titan and Uranus, which couldn't possibly have been established by humanity. Good stuff.
  11. I concur. Really looking forward to this one. The criticisms at this early a stage are absolute balderdash.
  12. Tool's new album, Fear Inoculum. Excellent progressive metal.
  13. There's a lot of crimping in the pastry, suggesting to me that it might be from Cornwall.
  14. Did you ever beat Tyson? Supposed to be one of the hardest boss fights in videogame history.
  15. This was the start of my tech era. The ultra-powerful 48 K version ! Galaxian, my first favourite video game.
  16. I'm primarily a Bronze Age collector, so the 9.0 to 9.4 range was feasible, and at affordable prices. Until recently, anyway.
  17. I just had a look at the group's roll call. Didn't realise there was a Bat-Cow. Yup, I just can't wait.
  18. As long as I can find a nicely-presenting book, I'm not bothered about the assigned CGC grade. Lots of really nice 9.0 to 9.4s with defects that are barely perceptible in the slab.
  19. Kirby’s dialogue, execution and art can, to me, often seem extremely metal; loud, energetic, in-your-face, little in the way of subtlety. But, I often quite like that. It’s entertaining, at least.
