  1. Possibly about 80%. I still have a box full of trades and hardcovers to read, but the percentage is falling now as a result of the copious amount of digital comics I’m getting, due mainly to the generous deals on Humble Bundle, and I can’t keep up with all that. In the 80s and 90s the figure would’ve been around 95%.
  2. That’s interesting. Because of the pitiful £ sterling exchange rate, finally a book I can afford.
  3. Yup. Once Jimmers arrives, randomness is guaranteed. Which is good.
  4. She’s done shows on British TV, such as the university drama ‘Fresh Meat’.
  5. I tested the water with a cheap run of Harbinger Valiant issues, 1 up. After I’d paid, I got an email from the seller in which I read the line ‘I am not a professional grader’ for the first time and, surprise, surprise, the books were all garbage, despite originally being described as near mint. One reason I soon gravitated towards CGC, before eventually joining the boards here.
  6. I recall seeing a CGC 9.6 copy of this issue with very similar staple (mis)placement. Before the speculation era went into high gear. And at a nosebleed price. Can’t recall exactly... $10k ?
  7. Not that common to see an ASM 129 so badly miswrapped. So many available that are much better than that one, including my 9.0.
  8. Always very difficult when you lose someone who’s a mentor and guiding light. Sorry for your loss.
  9. It wouldn't work if you had the original Moon Boy, who looks like a modern human guy dressed in a costume store gorilla suit. For me, one of the more ridiculous ideas in the very enjoyable original series. The modern series is an interesting alternative take.
  10. Great choice. As you know, my favourite is 'The Eyes Have It' from Police Comics 22. Either way, genius, virtuoso cartooning.
  11. The werewolf storyline was a high point in the series. I like Sienkiewicz’s artwork throughout, but Moench’s scripts were mostly okay reads, hardly exceptional.
  12. Could be much worse. At least a certain 'sketch cover' copy of Strange Sports 6 hasn't been encapsulated. Then there'd be junk in a slab.
  13. One of my favourite modern titles. A very consistently well-written book. Interested to see her on screen. Her background has never been an issue for me, as many British cities have large Muslim populations. Still, educational to a degree, as well as being both a good comic and a good character.
  14. The only comic reference I know is The Ventriloquist's gangster dummy. From the great Breyfogle Batman era.
  15. The comic book market crash of 2003/2004/2005/2006/2007/2008/2009/2010/2011/2012/ 2013/2014/2015/2016/ 2017/2018/2019
  16. Yup. How could I forget this one? Their participation in the boards is very, very sadly missed.
  17. He's very charismatic in person. The camera can also capture that.
  18. Outsiders would never understand why a post from him containing the phrase 'Suck it' is so highly regarded and sought after.
  19. I'm being quite thick here. But, I have just woke up. That sounds like half Thanos, half Darkseid, if it's comics-related. As a comics nerd, I should be doing much better with it.
  20. Yup. He's always struck me as a kind, empathic person with a great sense of humour. We need more like him.
