  1. His earliest work showed considerable promise. Hawk and Dove, the first few issues of New Mutants. When I look back at those, I can still see the potential.
  2. The Twelve, and The Twelve :Spearhead one-shot prequel Being a big JSA fan, like our feline friend here, I wanted to do something similar, but without a direct crossover, and so I decided to read a Marvel equivalent. The story is often referred to as J Michael Straczynski’s attempt at doing Watchmen, but I think that’s a bit too critical, as to me it reads simply as a very good JSA-type book, featuring extremely obscure, Z-list Timely characters, rather than the JSA’s more A-list level, DC Golden Agers. An interesting range of characters, personalities, of problems adjusting when thrown into the modern age, with a murder mystery on top. Good stuff. 2023 total = 109
  3. It's missing the option "Are you a nerd?" Likely because that would break the system.
  4. Great books. Also, I was only aware of canine distemper, and didn't know it applied to felines as well. A very educational post, in addition to some quality Golden Age.
  5. We agreed, that to make the topic more challenging, only domestic, household-type Felidae would be allowed.
  6. Zabu’s presence is quite clear.
  7. Not the best drawing of a cat I’ve ever seen.
  8. Just about to say. Domestic size only.
  9. Yup. Any great cats should be excluded. Too easy.
  10. Fantagraphics, so it might have a small press, indie feel going for it. Nonetheless, there's no excuse for bad photo referencing.
  11. I found out a few years later in my teens, but I couldn’t erase the image I’d already formed in my head.
  12. As a kid I always thought the Scarlet Pimpernel sounded like a character with badly inflamed acne.
  13. Really pleased it worked out so well for you. I've also noticed that you have some weights ready, visible in the background, to press out any defects in the remaining 10 %.
  14. Yup. It was often described as schizophrenia at the time, but it’s more accurately multiple personality disorder. I did think something similar when I read it, that the switching seemed a bit too comfortable and relaxed.
  15. 52 was a very good read throughout. Countdown started okay but went downhill fairly quickly. Bought all of 52 back then, started getting a bit bored with Countdown after 10 issues or so and dropped it.
  16. I’d be concerned about getting mixed in with something. The safer, limited version involves line of sight.
