  1. Even though I'm a Brit, I've always preferred the look of that to the later UK-distributed Marvel All-Colour Comics variant.
  2. At first, I thought the creature's mid-section and legs were cocooned in something.
  3. Yup. Although, Tarzan is a lot cooler than The Black Condor, so it's not all bad news for him.
  4. The sidekicks are a bit mismatched; Zabu vs Cheetah. That fight wouldn't last long.
  5. Not quite the image I was thinking of. Clearly, the acrid odour of old newsprint has a calming effect.
  6. There's the 'thrill of the hunt' factor to consider, and the downer from those adrenaline surges which can occur once you finally own a copy.
  7. There are some images of him in the Water Cooler that show frightening levels of aggression, and I suspect that even an alpha male Cimmerian could be intimidated by them. So, not as far-fetched as many boardies might believe.
  8. It's more believable, say, than being adopted by a condor and developing the power of flight.
  9. My vote goes to the Cimmerian. Conan - born on a battlefield, raised in a hard-as-nails warrior society, eventually proving to be the toughest of them all. Tarzan - adopted by primates.
  10. One of the iconic writers from the Bronze Age period during which I first started reading comics, and responsible for starting the process of reinvigorating my all-time favourite super-hero team. A sad loss.
  11. Exactly why I never posted ECs as comics 'every collector should have' in the thread in General. I think they're brilliant, but someone else might see them as extremely overwritten, formulaic and preachy at times.
  12. To me, looks like Cole was going for a minimalist, Art Deco effect.
  13. Ghost Rider, Punisher, Spectre, Judge Dredd
  14. Much the same for me. I have pretty much everything I really care about, and so I can go into hibernation during this period of over-the-top frenzy.
  15. At one point they were also being promoted as Marvel Studios' possible replacement / alternative to the X-Men.
  16. There's no quality trolling anymore. I'm hoping for the return of Lancashire Kitchens instead.
