Face it, tiger. You just hit the jackpot! Congratulations! I’ve sold a lot of books through Heritage. I recommend them. I’m a Heritage Legacy client so they like me, at least for my bids. I deal with Barry Sandoval and he’s very responsive. They’ll likely put your 9.8 in a featured auction with a bunch of other high end items that generate a lot of interest. They also mail beautiful full color auction preview catalogs to their big buyers for all upcoming important auctions. They get the eyeballs and bucks on high end and hard to find books. Heritage also has a lot of flexible consignment and financing options for buyers that help alleviate the need to come up with all cash in a short period of time. This, I believe, gives buyers a little more freedom to bid for something they really want. There are only so many 9.8s that will ever come up for sale so I think you’ll have very strong interest. I hope you make a bundle!

I just received this monster back from CGC. Apparently it's the highest graded Hulk #1 ever by CGC whether unrestored or restored, but not nearly as valuable as many of the books in the rarified air of the unrestored column on the census. In hand, it looks flawless and even with the purple label (I knew 100% about the restoration) I'm very happy with it.

Thanks for sharing that (painful) story because it's so relatable. I've also had to rehearse in my mind many deals that didn't happen because I didn't yes to the offer. For me, items I sold that I should have kept have been a bigger source of pain (like when I sold a FF 1 that was beat but complete for $200...a little tear welling up as I type). Whenever possible I try to buy that book I missed out on or sold in a slightly higher grade or with a signature or pedigree so that the replacement is "better". At least that's the mind game I play. Obviously, that's easier said than done when it comes to big ticket books.

It was a lot more than 25 cents...ha, ha. Here is my FF Annual #1. I'll need an expert on the chronology of these books (and someone who owns raw copies) to chime in. ST Annual 1 has a 1962 date and FF Annual 1 has a 1963 date so there might have been some time between the two before they reached the rack.

That's right. It's all coming back to me now. I re-read some of the Impossible Collection articles. That's where I remember seeing those two 9.0s together in one picture. Thanks for those details.

I watched a lot of the Heritage bidding action today. That's a major league score and a beautiful book...even white pages. Congratulations!
