  1. Thanks. I did speak with customer service at CGC. You are correct. They said I cannot combine signing options and have to pick one. I can get both signatures, but if I want an inscription or a remarque, they need to be done separately. So I would need to choose Claremont signature with Inscription. When I get it back from CGC 6-8 weeks later, I would need to resend it in for a Miller signature with Remarque. That makes sense if they were separate signing events. Since they are at the same signing event, I was hoping to get it all at once to have less risk of handling and re-cracking multiple times. Rookie mistake by me I guess.
  2. Hi. First time submitting. I am sending in a book for the Wolverine Signing event coming up. I am hoping to get signatures from Claremont and Miller. I see there is an option for a duo signature. However, if I wanted Claremont’s Inscription and Miller’s Remarque along with the signatures, is that possible on the same comic at the same event? If possible, do I need to pay the grading and pressing fees twice? It only allows one choice at a time based on what I am seeing. Any guidance would be appreciated.
  3. Interesting. Thanks for the info. How often can “staining” be improved by a cleaning without it being a restore?
  4. That’s pretty cool and would be awesome. Thanks.
  5. I appreciate all the info. I could be wrong, but I assume the spine stress lines have the biggest negative impact on the grade. With stress lines pictured, what would be a top grade I could expect out of a book assuming the staining and other creases are improved. I chose this one because it seemed to not have other tears or major creases on the face of the cover. I saw the grader notes, but did not see the extent of spine stress until it arrived. All my other books I have collected have been 9.2-9.8. This was my first book in a mid/lower grade. Thanks again!
  6. Ok. Thanks. If it matters, this is for my personal collection to keep and not intending to sell anytime soon. There are some fairly large newton rings on the cover, so I might at some point be sending it back in to get re-slabbed either way which got me thinking about having it cracked open to clean and press with a regrade vs just re-slabbing.
  7. Hi. I am looking for some advice and opinions. I bought a 5.0 Avengers 8 recently because I thought it showed well for the grade. I was wondering if it would be worth having it cracked open to clean, press and resubmit. Grader notes below and pictures for reference. Does anyone think it would be worth it and a candidate for a grade bump? I am fairly new to this and would appreciate the help. notes: moderate spine stress lines to cover moderate staining to cover moderate wear to cover rippling to cover
  8. Thanks for the replies. I guess the fuzzy nature of it caught me off guard. I got it from My Comic Shop in one of their auctions. Not sure if they would let me return it given that, but I will reach out to them to see what they say.
  9. New collector here. I just got a book delivered and noticed what appears to be a blurry white fuzz spot on the inside of the slab. Does anyone have any thoughts on what it is? It was not present in the listing scans or on the CGC certificate pictures when I bought it. This is not an expensive book, but my concern is possible mold and the risk of spreading to other books/slabs. Sorry if this is a weird question. Thanks!
