Moderns that are heating up on ebay!
kimik replied to thirdgreenham's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
I was curious to see how stores would order on the book. Hopefully your store is indicative of the vast majority and they will all have ordered small. -
Okay DISC/WB - make a decision on re-shoots and let's get this movie finished.

Copper's Heating/Selling Well on Ebay
kimik replied to fastballspecial's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
The McFarlane Tec run covers are to me as a Batman collector. Bats #423 is better. It is similar to difference between Adams Batman and Tec covers where the Adams Tec covers fall short of the Batman covers overall. -

I am surprised at the prices that some of the Frank Cho Harley Quinn Rebirth B covers are fetching now. Is this something new, or have they been selling for a decent premium for a bit now and I just did not notice? -

It may be, but since it will be the first appearance of a new Iron Cat in the current market...... -
I thought McAvoy and Fassbender were great as Xavier and Magneto in the Fox X-Men reboot and would be happy to see them reprise the roles in the MCU.

Congrats. Tec #400 is an awesome book. Personally, I hold Tec #395, 400, 402, 404, 405, and 411 on the same level as the big BA Batman issues, but the market does not................ -

No. The fugliest interiors are in some of the Kirby Fourth World books where the characters appear to be melting in every panel. -

Ouch. Someone listed a Catwoman #43 1:25 Sozomaika variant for $69.99 or best offer today. Completed eBay listings should have been their friend.......... https://www.ebay.com/itm/144575991230?hash=item21a9668dbe:g:I34AAOSw7dlikmmd -
Moderns that are heating up on ebay!

Looking at all of the "1st" appearances that the market counts now, having Venom, Carnage or Doomsday appear today would have been a speculative gold mine. Multiple cameos before a full first appearance = -

The beauty of modern Marvels with multiple first apps. Just roll with it and sell all three. Black Cat #10 - cool cover Black Cat #11 - 1st appearance (cameo or full?) of Iron Cat Black Cat #12 - 1st cover and 1st full? appearance of Iron Cat -
He’s featured prominently in the High Republic Adventures series. Given that it sounds like this will focus on the Dark Side, I’m not sure how big of a role he will play in this, but it’s possible. He’s on the Jedi Council during this time. Looks like Yoda will be coming to D+ in a new animated HR series, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, that initially sounds a lot like HR Adventures: https://www.ign.com/articles/star-wars-high-republic-kids-show

Moderns that are heating up on ebay!

Are those books hot right now? I spec bought 5 or 10 apiece, and if they are hot now I have to do some box diving this weekend to try to find them. -
As countless Favreau interviews and articles from 2008 onwards have stated, RDJ was considered a risk by Marvel execs and even the Board due his public drug issues. Favreau had to pushback multiple times to hire him, and that was after he switched from another actor (can't remember) to RDJ as the lead. The gamble paid off, which is great for us as it led to the MCU.

Copper's Heating/Selling Well on Ebay
kimik replied to fastballspecial's topic in Copper Age Comic Books
I am not sure it is absurd. The pre-Robin Tecs are amazing, but after that there are a handful of classic covers in the GA and that is it. The 60s were mostly blah for both titles for the most part. Once the BA hit, the Ras Al Ghul arc in Batman was much better than anything happening in Tec. The O'Neil/Adams collaboration started in Tec, but it was elevated in their Batman run. -

I should correct, that - Tec is definitely less sought after as a whole relative to Batman for most collectors other than Greggy....... -
Ultimate Fallout 4 how can I tell if it’s a first or second print?
kimik replied to Pmu's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Great post. The bar code should be 00411 on the original. -

As a long time Batman collector, outside of some of the GA issues, Tec is definitely less sought after as a whole relative to Batman. -
I think it depends on how long it takes to do an Aquaman 3. Short term she is untouchable. Remember, at one point RDJ was viewed as a junkie that no studio would seriously consider. Marvel took a chance on him in Iron Man and nobody remembers anything prior to that now. As the saying goes, people love a redemption story.

He is just following their lawyers' advice re: what to say. And, unless her lawyer's have something in writing, he can say whatever he wants to under oath. Basically, the testimony is part truth and part CYA for the studio for reducing her role in the film. I would be curious to see what is in her contract.
