  1. Personally, I would say scoop up higher grade if you can find them for $5 and under; mid-grade at $1-2.00. They're out there. Agreed. There are plenty of minor first apps and classic stories (e.g. Kraven's Last Hunt) that will be in demand. Hobgoblin and Punisher apps as well. Some of these have already popped to $20+ in NM, but they will go higher. FWIW, based on the price gains for other McFarlane covers, the ASM #302-328 McFarlane covers are worth accumulating now as well, along with the Venom covers above #330.
  2. Now is the time to start stockpiling cheap copies of #200-299 where you can find them.
  3. Looking at post D+ show prices on all other MK related books, you may see a bit of a correction.
  4. I am going to watch this through to the end. So far it has exceeded my expectations, which were pretty low going in admittedly, so I am going to watch it whichever way it goes. The Halo fan in me loved the battle in the first episode. We need more of that.
  5. I had them at $15 at my show and didnt sell one. Interesting. What may have helped here is that none of the stores went big as there was not heavy speculation in advance (unlike Hulk 6 ). It was the same with #88/1st Queen Goblin. Recent ASM back issues are not high demand items for LCSs I guess.
  6. This is a trend I am noticing more as well from shows last fall through now. There is a bit of resurgence in the number of run collectors which is nice to see. Makes buying collections instead of keys more worthwhile again. I stopped chasing collections for one reason - my wife's "concern" regarding the creep of comic long boxes out of my comic room into the rest of the basement.
  7. I thought that, but have been moving them fast at $20 - $25 (Gleason webhead) at shows this spring. A lot of people still missed it somehow, and the webhead Gleason cover attracts the cover collector crowd.
  8. Agreed and this is going to be an interesting question for studios going forward. I asked my kids (16 and just turned 18) if they wanted to go and they said no, they would wait for it to come out on D+ right away. As a result, I am going with some fellow boardies to see it. It is beginning to look like the future will be more releases on the big screen with shorter run windows to recover production costs and hopefully turn a profit, then a quick add to streaming to maintain subscriber bases. There may be a faster transition from theatre to streaming than I thought there would be as new generations grow up with on demand consumption of content via streaming. What will be cool will be moving from a screen to AR/VR headsets.
  9. Re: ASM #93, if Chasm becomes a bigger villain in the spider-verse then current prices will find a support since it is demand that drives prices on books............ You have to feel sorry for the Ben Reilly property. He is being treated as a WWE property in flipping from villain/heel to hero and then back time after time. At least prices are finally starting to move on ASM #149 again. That may mean the current heel Reilly aka Chasm has some legs longer term.
  10. Getting this back on track, I am seeing increased demand for ASM #130-200 this spring at shows. The non-#194 key/1st app issues have started to pop a bit already looking at GPA, and most issues are moving up across the board. It will be interesting to see how high #149 will go based on the early reception to Ben Reilly as a villain now.
  11. If you are looking at completing or upgrading a run from #130 - #200, now is the time to lock them in. Prices are starting to run on a few issues, and move up on most across the board. I have noticed a lot of people asking for them at shows this spring.
  12. Where it will unfortunately end. I found a copy of Naomi #1 sorting boxes the other day that I will not be able to move at elevated prices now. I thought I had sold them all when they were fetching $100.
  13. Wonder when it will finally be finished editing so they can give a firm release date?
  14. I heard it was an average super-hero TV show from a couple of people I know that watched the first 2-3 episodes. I am not sure what they thought of the rest of Season 1.
  15. Lucky for the submitter. I received a Tec #359 CBCS 6.0 in a trade, sent it in to CGC earlier this year, and it came back recently at CGC 3.0 due to the undisclosed spine split by CBCS. When the book was cracked open it was a nasty shock to see, to say the least, but not the first time I have had bad outcomes when opening CBCS graded books.
  16. That would have been fun for the actors. DCU should give Gunn a shot at Superman next. They need to revive that franchise, and he may be the one to pull it off.

    CGC Grading

Do Don't waste your time. Odds are it would not hit CGC 9.8, let alone 9.9.
  18. Personally speaking, I have never considered being rude to CGC customer service since 1) they have always been great with me, 2) they do not control the TATs, and 3) if you are rude to them, they have all of your info and you just gave them the green light to delay the books even further.
  19. Playing high level sports, my kids know that you do not want to be any type of sports official. I will say this, kids nowadays are way too nice to officials. Back when I played, you would "accidentally" shoot pucks at the refs/linesmen in hockey while clearing the puck if you thought they were doing a bad job. Sometimes your coach would ask you to..........
  20. No worries. The USA is in good company with Liberia and Myanmar in sticking with the imperial system as former colonies of the British Empire..........
  21. Good luck with the resub. You will likely find that CBCS 9.8 does not equal CGC 9.8............
  22. In the 99% of the world that went from imperial to metric.
  23. I guess I should have used a quote. I did indeed mean Pandya, who will be talking about how strong it held next Sunday WoW.
