  1. Agreed. I just saw them a couple of weeks ago while sorting long boxes, but can't remember if I put them into the dollar boxes or Image boxes now.
  2. It is unfortunate that I am no longer able to pluck stuff like #174 and #175 from one of the stores for $4 apiece any longer. They always had the homage covers marked up until a year or so ago, but not the other money books. I think the owner still has cases of Spawns in the back, but he is pressing and slabbing anything that could be a potential 9.6 or 9.8 now.
  3. I bought I think 7 newstands and several issues in the 150s to 170s. Again I found nothing above 180 to 280. It's like those issues just don't exist anymore. We are fortunate here that the two stores still around from the 1980s are slowly leaking out Spawn backstock. I keep buying any issues they put out between 100 - 300 that are reasonably priced.
  4. The artist that actually defined the Copper Age is the same one as the Bronze Age - Neal Adams. His influence is evident in all of the top artists from the early 70s through 80s.
  5. The Surfer/Galactus arcs in FF 55-60 and 72-76 are starting to move up a bit. Those are likely decent books to accumulate now for when the Galactus/SS/FF movie/D+ announcement comes. You can still land high grade copies for cheap relatively speaking.
  6. 1st appearances of Zabu and the Savage Land, plus 1st Silver Age appearance of Ka-Zar. In this market three 1st appearances =
  7. Looking at the success of the past Calgary Christmas Market Expos, similar timing may not be a bad idea as an alternate date.
  8. The cost worked out to less $0.50 CAD per issue in this small collection. I bought it for a few gems, and then $1-$2 bin fodder since I was basically out of it to start 2020.
  9. Just about any issue is selling with some regular issues go over $10 an issue. I would pay particular interest to 2nd prints that have not taken off yet. I passed on a couple this week that I may go back and get just because I am cheap. That's were I was yesterday with no real knowledge of the "series" per se, all the $10 sales now profit since I got most of them for cover price, do I abandon ship or not haha Thanks for the lifeline though, it may have a bit of staying power, if I can get to the keys that are not well spoken for, just hard when I'd have have to resort to something like the key collector app haha I'm new I'm new I don't know what to do Thanks to both of you. So not $1 or $2 bin fodder. That is where the recent Valiant runs will go instead.
  10. Thanks. Looks like there may be something of value in it then. The rest are just $1 or $2 bin fodder then?
  11. Seeing this talk re: Invincible, are there any issues of note past #110? I landed a run from #114 to #140 in a collection last year that I just dug out while continuing to process it over the weekend.
  12. If that is the case, maybe the amount of books in the system for Walk Thru is that high now. In addition, due to Covid protocols, they may have to reduce the number of books they can process via Walk Thru per day.
  13. My 25 book Value submission from 1/20/2021 is finally in Shipping. It has taken nearly double the amount of time that was stated upon the submission being entered in the system to get the books graded.
  14. Greggy must have been jamming the system with his mass submissions again.
  15. Which is fine. He wants $$$ in his pocket, and if it comes from speculators he has no issues with it. In this case, anyone buying Wynd 1 will be doing it on the back issue market and he will see zero from any lift there. Then you have creators like Cates that pimp their work as well, and then turn around and complain about the speculators who are buying copious amounts of his books. His promotion of Crossover was worse than anything Tynion has done IMHO.
  16. He is a smart creative trying to generate interest in his work. I have no issue with that. It is the creators like Cates that pimp their stuff then get pissy with speculators that I don't care for.
  17. And for those of you that do not read Tynion's blog (https://jamestynioniv.substack.com/about?utm_source=menu-dropdown), here is a snippet on Wynd that you may want to take note of: So yeah, If you have any teens who love fantasy in your lives or in your shops, or really anyone who loves coming-of-age fantasy adventure stories with queer characters, you should put a copy of WYND vol. 1 in their hands, and get them to put Wynd on their pull-lists. Also: Not to put too fine a point on it, but I miiiiiiiiiiiiiight have some meetings in the next few weeks that, if they go well, could make it worthwhile to get on this series on the ground floor.
  18. Nothing like a bit of TV/movie speculation to help prices on any book.
  19. Looks like A Nice House on the Lake #1 will kick June off nicely for Tynion as well. Early reports are over 100K in pre-orders.
  20. Definitely re: #1, and the first few issues as well. There were noticeably fewer copies of 2 - 4 on the shelves of LCSs. Tynion is firing on all cylinders right now with his books. I wonder how much above 400K in sales his books did this month. Batman 108 sold over 200K copies according to his blog, and SIKTC #16 topped 155K. Add in Joker and DoT (and Wynd? not sure if an issue came out), and it was a heck of a month for him.
  21. Tynion mentioned this is in his most recent blog. It looks like more people are checking it out. The exciting thing with Department of Truth right now is we’re seeing sales go up, issue-by-issue. We were up almost 14K between Issues 8 & 9, so I just want to say how grateful we are that folks are buying into this completely insane series. Out of everything I’m doing, it feels like this would be one of the more polarizing books, but we’ve got a loyal fanbase who are excited to go down the rabbit hole with us.
  22. If you quarantine for 14 days, I think it should be fine provided you are vaccinated.
  23. I am going if the show goes forward. If I have to fly solo, more sales for me.....
  24. Nice. I knew that sitting on copies of 647 would pay off eventually.....................although I thought it would be much sooner.
  25. Ah, so you throw the slabs against the wall after checking the current CGC TaT's.
