  1. For X-Men keys, buying in Jan 2021 was still fine for the SA keys, and for 94+, the end of Feb.
  2. Awesome sauce if you can make that happen, Kevin. And if Greggy likes one of my posts, you know it has to be the right move.
  3. Yeah, but the actor who played young Bruce in Gotham looks tougher and more resilient. Figuring it out does not mean weepy or moping. And, again, I think he is a good actor, just not for this type of role.
  4. I agree he is a good actor, but I still can't see him in this role. He looks like he is going to weep too often in the trailers - not quite the strong persona Batman is supposed to be in my books.
  5. I try my best. Those collectors are all now laughing, as the other copies from that group that I sent in hit 9.8 straight subbed..........
  6. Raw, or graded? I have a bunch of them someplace that I will have to dig out.
  7. A couple of years ago I snagged a Sandman #1-75 run for $80. The #1 is signed by Gaiman and either McKean or Keith from a show in the late 90s (I can't recall). Might be time to pull them out and look at listing the set.
  8. Kevin, any chance the Trailer Park Boys crew will be a guest this year? Thanks to the animated series, my kids and their friends are watching both the animated and original live series on Netflix.
  9. Tec 400 in high grade is not as common on the market as Bats 232. And, there are people starting to speculate on the 1st Man-Bat since it has not really popped yet. Ras has appeared in the movies already, while Man-Bat has not.
  10. Looks like there were two fake sales of GSX 1 CGC 9.4 W at $29,500 and $22,400 on eBay last week? https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=giant+size+x-men+1+cgc+9.4&LH_Complete=1
  11. Good. I hope it floats the boat for all sub-9.8 grades as well.
  12. I thought that was every day for you - dig through a few of the hundreds of long boxes you have for the latest hot books of the week, break out a beer or two at the end of the day, then repeat the next day........
  13. More than ever for me. I have a target number that I am aiming to hit his year for number of books since so much copper and modern drek that has been sitting in boxes in now worth submitting. CGC will be earning a pretty penny off of me this year, and likely next year as well.
  14. This may be the first Batman movie I have not seen in the theatres (and yes, that includes Batman & Robin). I still can't take Pattinson seriously as Bruce Wayne/Batman based on the trailers - he just seems to be lacking the on screen charisma/it factor that Bale and Affleck have for an A-list super-hero role.
  15. Agreed. And there are a ton of obscure sci-fi and horror books from that era that are dead as well. Those books will likely crater in price even further due to no demand. I will admit, when I get collections, most of the Dells end up in my $1 or $2 boxes. The people that buy them predominantly are 50+ year old collectors. There is the odd parent that will buy a Disney book for their kids, but even Donald and Mickey are nowhere near as popular (or even recognizable) with children now.
  16. Fixed that for you to better reflect the current market............
  17. Most 17 - 20 year old's I've met will not buy vinyl for $10 let alone $1,000. They seem to be very into thrift store type shopping and paying rock bottom prices for stuff with no interest in high end collectible stuff. I think we would all be surprised at how many young vinyl collectors there are now. I had a record collecting/selling acquaintance correct me a couple of years back at a pop culture fair when I mused whether there are any young collectors. There has been a resurgence the past decade. The difference is they are chasing new vinyl, not the old stuff like Elvis.
  18. Yes. The trend in collecting has been evident the past 5 - 10 years - younger collectors consume/read via TPBs and collected editions, and collect keys via slabs predominantly. Based on my sales at shows, the Gen Z collectors start with the CA and MA keys since they are more relevant to them and more affordable, and then work their way back into older SA and BA. There are some that go directly to BA keys and SA keys/early issues, but not as many. The difference with this generation of collectors is that most are not worried about putting together runs since they can get the common issues via Omnibi, TPBs, or digitally to read. They focus on keys. Talking with store owners/managers the past couple of weeks, they have all brought up the same point when I ask them about the health of the market. With being a geek (or as I like to refer to it - a more technical/scietific society) and collecting comics becoming more mainstream, and the amount of comic shows/movies being pumped out, they all view it that the market is different now than it has been in the past. The two store owners that are still around from the early 80s view the current run up in prices being different from the 90s - back then they knew it would end as they had non-comic collecting average joe publics calling in to order long boxes of the latest #1s as an investment (and they were happy to sell it to them ). Now, with comics being widely accepted and the multi-media approach to lever the IP, they feel that that the market has room to grow. Time will tell, I guess. The one area both of these old school stores view as being in decline - late 40s - 50s books for the most part. One store picked up a huge mid to high grade late 40s through mid 50s, and then mid 60s to mid 70s collection. There are a ton of slow to no selling titles in the mix that he is trying to offload first since he has seen demand steadily drop for them the past 30 years. For example, most Dell titles.
  19. We plan to be at both events if Calgary is held this fall. The past year and a half of buying with no shows means stock has built up. I have a collection of 4000 or so books in the garage that still needs to be processed fully. Every two weeks I go rummage through some of the boxes and pull out some more hot modern books. It is like bin diving in a store.
  20. You’re not Kevin No, but I ask questions direct to FanExpo for us...............
  21. Hit the stores last night and snagged a new small stack of Spawns, including a couple of newsstand copies of 31 and 68. Unfortunately, it looks like I have cleaned them out of issues between 100 - 300 for now.
  22. That we are in the position for both the Calgary and Edmonton Expos to go ahead in the fall.
  23. There are plenty of young buyers, both male and female, at shows now. For them, the initial focus is copper and modern keys, and I have noticed that a good portion do migrate to GA/SA/BA keys over time. The difference is that the new generation of collector is more focused on keys and hot/variant covers, not run builders.
  24. I have a bad feeling that both for me are in a box at the bottom of the back row of longs. At least now there is enough value to make it worthwhile to dig them out.
