  1. Agree 100%. I am kicking myself now for not going higher in March 2020 on GSX 1 CGC 9.8. The first copy that month sold for $8,900, and I had a max of $10K on the next one to come up for sale but did not chase it past that since I thought that anything over $10K would be grossly overpaying.
  2. I have three groups of books in for grading right now: Received Items Service Status 2/23/2021 25 FAST TRACK VALUE Scheduled for Grading 1/22/2021 24 MODERN Grading / Quality Control 1/20/2021 25 VALUE Received So far it looks like they are on schedule with the stated TATs when they were received.
  3. Ten years ago Megan Fox would have had a shot. Now, I have not been following enough of the 20 something actresses to have a suggestion. They need to look at someone mid to late 20s if it is a multi-film deal.
  4. Wow. If anyone has a 5.5 available, PM me as I will pay the current GPA price listed above.
  5. The only comparable period I can remember is the 1989-1993 period when collectibles across the board were spiking as there was a ton of new speculators/investors entering the markets. I was just a teenager starting out collecting at the time, but even then I was reselling things I had bought a couple of years earlier to buy more. If we experience a similar post-bubble plateau/correction, then my advice based on that experience is to load up on keys while the market is down.
  6. And wow, there was insanity on the Sunday night Heritage X-Men lots last night. At what point do you ask yourself as a bidder, is the juice worth the squeeze? X-Men Group of 13 (Marvel, 1968-69) Condition: Average VF - $4,320 with BP ($332 per book) X-Men Group of 23 (Marvel, 1977-90) Condition: Average NM- - $4,080 with BP ($177 per book) X-Men Group of 24 (Marvel, 1977-91) Condition: Average VF/NM - $3,120 with BP ($130 per book) X-Men Group of 25 (Marvel, 1980-87) Condition: Average NM - $1,440 with BP (a relatively tame $57 per book, but still high for mostly #180-200)
  7. I would argue that ST 110 is the worst SA Marvel key cover rather than TOS 39.
  8. I grade strictly, which works out fine for buyers at shows, and for me as well since they keep coming back.
  9. Let it keep going. I bought a 9.4 just before lift off at the end of January for a reasonable price and would love to see it catch up to GSX 1 now.
  10. You need to set aside a % to chase chunky growth while still focusing on blue chip dividends with the bulk of it. Sort of like comic collecting. Speculate on moderns while still buying more established keys.
  11. We watched the first half/three segments today, and it was great to see how much better the story is with the original character development. I fully expect that the future of movies to be a combination of theatrical release followed by serialization with extra footage for streaming services. You can just use the same material twice. Two things I did not care for so far: 1) the women singing and sniffing Aquaman's shirt scene, and 2) the theme music for the Amazons and Diana.
  12. Maybe. But, at what point does a person take the money off the table and put it to work in the equity markets instead?
  13. It really makes me question whether to sell now or hold for more price run up? Check out some of the prices on the other XMen books and lots in the auction. Insane.
  14. I guess that puts the CGC 4.0 that sold on eBay at above $20K now?
  15. And the X-Men #1 CGC 3.5 CR-OW with "Jack Kirby written on 1st Page" on Heritage tonight ended at $19,200 with the BP: https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/superhero/x-men-1-marvel-1963-cgc-vg-35-cream-to-off-white-pages/a/122112-17581.s
  16. I have been watching as SA 1 has been rising quietly across all covers in 9.8. It would be interesting to see how a D+ announcement would impact prices. The print run for all five covers of #1 was just over 71k according to Comichron, so there were likely 1500-2000 copies of the 1:50 printed. Due to the black cover and crappy production quality spine issues that Marvel has had in the recent past, getting a 9.8 copy to start with was not a certainty.
  17. Try ComicLink or ComicConnect or Ebay or ask here in the want to buy section. And expect to pay dearly for it now............
  18. They have had a decent run up over the past year, but this is a 33% jump in a couple of weeks on XMen 1 in 4.0. I hope that means all of the other issues see that as well.
  19. I wonder how long it will take to translate to the rest of the early issues and other keys/1st apps in the SA run as well?
  20. Yeah, but that role was not offered to him before. Now, he has leverage, and DCU is looking for someone to lead it. In the end, if the offer him enough $$$$, he may reconsider.
  21. I wonder if WB may be shamed enough to give Snyder Feige like control of the DCU for a bit now? If yes, the price just went up.
  22. I will be watching it this weekend, and personally, count me in as one of the sadists that enjoys watching longer movies/documentaries. The simple reason - it allows the director to develop the characters and story more fully. I know theatres prefer to have 2.5 hrs for films and a half our turnaround in between, but I would rather watch a 4 hr film in the theater with a 15 minute intermission at the halfway mark if it means a better movie overall.
  23. While I am an XMen and Batman collector primarily, I agree re: AF 15 is the SA key to own (although I currently do not have one ). It is the Action 1 of the Silver Age, and is a book to buy and hold from a key perspective. If prices dip a bit, then buy. It will rise long term. Look at it like Hulk 181 for the BA - when prices plateau, snag a couple or more copies - one to keep and two or more to flip for a profit.
