  1. Amazing Spider-Man #50 CGC 7.5 W $1100 (last sale $1199) This book is red hot right now. 1st appearance of the Kingpin.
  2. I had a bunch of stuff set aside to sell at the spring shows this year, but with everything cancelled/about to be cancelled I will be sending them elsewhere. Before I ship them off to an auction house, I am going to post them here. There will be 60+ books in the mix, almost all of them keys. This thread will end next Monday after which the remaining books will be sent away. in the thread trumps PMs I have not responded to. Shipping: Starts at $20 in a small box with tracking and insurance via Canadapost in Canada and the continental USA. Overseas will be at cost. I will use Fedex for larger $$$ value purchases.
  3. I am kind of hoping they do release it digitally. I think it would still be a huge financial windfall for them if they price it right. It could also be a huge paradigm shift that, if the release is successful, changes the way we consume movies instantly. At the least, a successful launch of a blockbuster film digitally will give the studios leverage in negotiating the distribution rights.
  4. If you are looking from an investment lens, then X-Men and FF keys make the most sense as they are coming to the MCU universe.
  5. It's not that bad. So far only 120 copies in 9.4, so demand should still be higher than supply on it.
  6. What are you looking at price wise? I have one that can be purchased for the right price. PM me.
  7. We doubled up on our last two trips to Costco in February just in case. Looks like that was a good call, unfortunately.
  8. I didn’t know what an N95 mask was a few weeks ago! Exactly. But you will gladly pay $20 for a roll of tp when you run out........
  9. People want toilet paper and hand sanitizer, not N95 masks........
  10. Hopefully Greggy didn't see this.................
  11. Between AB and BC? I am not certain that is possible to do as it would be a federal matter. Just like the pipeline........
  12. Just buy from me. Everything I have is on sale now, even the keepers.
  13. Shows in late April and early May still have a chance of starting up. Hopefully Alberta follows the lead of Ontario and calls a two week suspension of school following spring break (March 23-27 here) and restart on the Tuesday (April 14) after Easter. That would allow enough time for people still travelling during the break to self quarantine for two weeks, and hopefully prevent a widespread outbreak. That should hopefully be enough time for the Expo (April 23-26) to be held.
  14. The show is still a month away. If the peak spread for COVID is now until the end of March, things should be clear for the show to proceed late April. With all of the other shows closing, it could be a big selling event...........
  15. The convention scheduled for this Sunday was cancelled late Thursday. Now I have a couple of larger buyers wanting to meet tomorrow afternoon to purchase books. The demand is definitely going to be there.
  16. There was no real impact in 2008-2009, but there was a noted drop during the 2001/2002 dotcom bubble burst. I had sellers consistently say "the book is missing" on non-reserve auctions back then due to the bargain basement prices for a few months. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out - with cons being cancelled with collectors focus more online? If that is the case, eBay and the auction houses will see nice prices. FWIW, I do not put much stock in January - February auction prices since they tend to be better times to buy to sell at a later time (e.g. July/August).
  17. They picked an absolutely horrible time to release the film, but I am betting it still would have tanked at the box office regardless. That being said, the studio should have postponed the release date until May to see if it had any type of legs.
  18. The Red & White this weekend was the best spring one in the past few years for me. Lots of cheap stuff sold, and a few books in the $500 - $1000 range, but no big books which I am fine with. It seems like the economy in Calgary has stabilized a bit now after three years of cuts, so I don't think the oil price crash will impact things much. A number of buyers were lining up books for the Expo so I hope it goes forward. I can use the $$$ to buy more equities.......
  19. There was no point to it, and if I want drive drive drive I would rather watch one of the Furious movies as they have a bit of an ongoing story to them. Add in the fact that Tom Hardy can't act in a way that makes you care about whether he lives or dies, unlike Mel Gibson in the original three, and it was a film that is not worth watching a second time.
  20. Interesting. I did not realize how well Warcraft and Rampage did internationally.
  21. I know I am in the minority here, but Fury Road was a weak movie IMHO. I never understood the hype.
  22. Interesting. Could no spring shows may mean higher prices on books in auctions then as buyers will focus their $$$ there?
  23. It was likely cheaper to just have him say a few lines than actually be in the full film.........
  24. The Black Cat piece on Clink finished at $7,566. Is that a good or low price for it? I was thinking it would finish in the $8-$10K range.
