Looking at the books I was bidding on in the Clink auction last night, the GA good girl and better horror books are still strong and running up. Those are the areas to look at now, with SA having outpaced GA gains the past two years.

Every open hour of every day, just like for Marvel keys.

SA Batman keys have run up nicely and held. That is about it.

I guess we will see this summer.

Then maybe we have hit a plateau/consolidation phase after the run up the past two years. Even a small correction will be fine and good for the market.

The comic markets will plateau for 2-5 year periods as well. I can remember not long ago when Hulk #181s in 9.4 were stuck in the $4k-$5k range for a couple years before popping in 2018. Prior to that, it was a $2K-$3K book for 6-8 years. My guess is that it consolidates around $10K now for a couple of years, if not longer, before starting to move up again. The only wildcard is a Hulk vs Wolverine movie/fight scene in a movie. That could make it jump up again faster.

Not all SA keys are dropping. There are still a couple of titles with room to run............ That being said, it seems like we have one or two of these threads every new year. The pattern has been the same for the past 20 years online and at auctions - sell in March through October, and buy in November through February. It is not a difficult play to follow.

Market speculation in comics is really not that hard as long as you pay attention to the trends. While movie/tv hype drives prices and is easier to follow, you can see trends in non-superhero books fairly readily based on buying patterns and what other collectors are asking for at shows.

You could always sell the AF 15............ Just kidding. Save up and buy the best copies of each that you can when you are ready.

Lock in your Hulk #181 and GSX #1 now, especially while CGC 9.4 copies of GSX 1 are still relatively cheap.

Once the X-Men appear in the MCU again, that book will separate further from ASM 129.

Up until the movie announcement, SME 15 stayed on walls for years since no-one cared about the character. SME was a dead key that had zero interest at OSPG prices. You had to discount them to 50% of OSPG if you wanted to move them. I see SME 15 following the same pattern as MP 15 and Marvel Super-Heroes 13/Ms. Marvel 1. How did those books work out for everyone that bought the hype? During the movie hype peak, people were paying $10K for a CGC 9.4 MSH 13 - the last copy sold for $5K.

Awesome! Now some people may actually buy Walking Dead back issues at the show.
