Wow. B&B #28 did not do well at all in the Clink auction. Last night the CGC 8.0 barely topped $20K, and the CGC 6.0 only hit $5700.

I was going to bid it up a bit to add another copy, but since I am chasing some other books tomorrow (a few Silver and Bronze keys/hot books to restock for the Calgary Expo) I decided to hold off. Prices were soft today on a number of books I placed early low tracking bids on. It is too bad that I am tapped out now due to house renos as there were quite a few deals to be found. Maybe I am just seeing things, but I have noticed a trend recently that the first day of early year auctions tend to be weaker than later in the year. Is anyone else seeing the same thing?

I am not certain on that. I think the print runs will be higher closer to 800, but the FOC for 797 was already over when people actually read 796. Everyone was banking on that being the first appearance. The couple of LCSs I talked to did not up their orders since they were banking on 796 being the 1st appearance.

Yeah, it was pretty evident from the movie that the Red Skull was not killed. I was expecting him to have resurfaced by now, though. I guess Infinity War is as good a place as any.

I did not read the comic. So Marvel is basically re-writing the Infinity Gauntlet history now?

This may not be a bad thing for Disney. They will likely be forced to shed some of the Fox assets due to competition fears if/when the deal goes through.

Only if they actually close the acquisition. Until then, it is business as usual.

It's not only BP that leads into AIW. You have basically the entire Marvel CU as a lead up to AIW as the main event. I think that when the dust settles we will see AIW as the top inflation adjusted grossing superhero film domestically and globally to date. I do think that the back to back box office success for Deadpool and BP will have studio execs rethinking their launch timing. It may be better to release in February/March before the theatres become oversaturated with too many big ticket action films in May through July. The same goes for mid/late August releases like GotG and SS. Timing of release can definitely help the final box office results.

Time will tell. I am not enthused about the casting decisions so far. I don't think it will be a big hit, but will do okay for WB/DC. Aquaman is more likely to be a hit IMHO.

I just hope that the fight scenes are not as choppy as some of them were in Civil War. The scene where they chased Bucky in traffic was really bad. There were some poorly edited/CGI'd scenes at other times as well which was a surprise from the Russos. I hope that they take the time to do them right with this film.
