  1. No, and it should not for the simple reason that the comic book medium is not as big as it was back then. BP is still just a 2nd/3rd tier comic book property that cannot sustain a long term successful run, but it does not matter as long as the character rakes it at the theatres. Like I have posted numerous times on these boards, comics do not matter any longer. Disney/Marvel will make more $$$ from just the BP movie than they do off of an entire year of comic sales. Comic floppies/trades are just a cheap way to 1) test/introduce new characters and story concepts and more importantly 2) help maintain IP ownership.
  2. I wonder if they can cast her as Black Cat for this film? She could be the first actor/actress to star for both Marvel and DC. FWIW, Anne Hathaway looked good to me as Catwoman in DKR without implants. All they need to do is cast an actress with an athletic/fit build that can actually act and all will be fine.
  3. So that's where Steppenwolf ended up after the JL movie...................
  4. I couldn't agree more +1 Great point, Gatsby77. My wife and I still love watching the Blade Trilogy whenever it is on (Trinity is a bit weak, but still has its moments). Up until that point, the only successful franchises had been Batman and Superman, but they were waning due to bad campy movies at the end. Blade changed that - it was a more serious/darker tone with the right mix of humor. That was a fun trilogy that paved the way for a change in the tone of the comic movie genre for the better.
  5. SURPRISE! Seeing as I have a nice stack of Tales of the Teen Titans #44s, I am hoping this goes ahead.
  6. Fox did a much better job with Quicksilver than Marvel did, so this is probably for the best if you are a Skrulls fan.
  7. I have decided to get back into the GA game with Joker cover Bats and Tecs to start off. Here are the first few additions from late 2017:
  8. I actually have a book that is nice enough to not look out of place amongst Mr. Bedrocks's gems:
  9. See. You can read a calendar. And so can someone that will raise this back up to teach their ex-husband a lesson again. Umm... I have to agree with Bosco on this one. I figured that Whedon would have been dropped back in November/December when the allegations surfaced. There is no way a studio would want a male director with any type of allegations against them directing a high profile female superhero film. If there is any risk of backlash that could limit the ability to recruit a strong female lead, or hurt the box office take, then I can't see a studio going forward with him right now.
  10. Maybe the House of Ideas has figured it out. Basically, treat every title as a 12 issue mini-series each year and cash in on the Marvel fanboys that will continuously buy the next #1. That being said, they actually do have this figured out - the quality of the comics does not matter any more as long as their movies keep churning in the big profits. One $600M feature film likely generates more profit in the end than their entire year of comic sales. The only reason to keep the comics going is to introduce new characters and protect existing IP. Otherwise, movies and video games are the much more lucrative space to focus resources on.
  11. There may be a few new collectors, but my guess is it will attract more TPB readers than anything. As for the value of FF #52 not rising, the run up the past year and a bit and I think that the book has overshot the market to a certain extent. I am curious to see how it does post-movie as the trend the past couple of years has been a plateau and smallish price correction for other movie books.
  12. My daughter saw the BP trailer on TV a month ago and said "Who is that, Catman".
  13. That should be fun. I am really looking forward to this film.
  14. So.....did this movie meet expectations for those of you who have seen it?
  15. Sorry, not a fan of the homeless crack addict look they gave to Zatanna in those pics.
  16. My personal collection is only about 1000 books, 5% Gold, 30% Silver, 40% Bronze, 25% Copper and Modern. Slabs account for 10% of it. My goal is to eventually pare it down to 200-300 books, most of them slabbed.
  17. For some reason Cover D has made me change my mind about the set........
  18. Wow. It used to be only #221 (AF #15 homage) and #228 (Action #1 homage) that were consistent $30 books.
  19. I wonder if the ads are different in the Canadian and US newsstand editions?
  20. I know we had a short discussion re: Artgerm Supergirl covers a short while back, but I think the upcoming Supergirl #20 variant might have some potential: https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/FEB180241
  21. Out here you are safe as long as you are not wearing a Canucks, Ducks, or Habs jersey. I think the Nucks are the most despised team by Canadian hockey fans outside of BC.
