  1. PM them if it is a busy day, but call them out publicly if it slow here on the boards so we have some entertainment!
  2. Hi Vern. Yes, it was from Ferd. He had those two Thrilling issues with Schomburg/Xela covers as well but this one had the nicest cover as far as I was concerned. I did not catch the tear seal the first look at the book, but luckily I nailed it on the second pass so he dropped the price by $100. It sounded like he was willing to move on the Caps on Sunday - did you come back for a second day? Cheers, Ryan
  3. I just picked this up on Sunday. It has a tear seal on the back cover, but overall is a very nice copy. I am pretty sure I paid too much ($285), but the colors and Schomburg cover are what sucked me in.
  4. Does anyone know the going rate for the pulps I posted? I am going to take them to a couple of local cons but do not want to gouge more than necessary.
  5. Wow, prices have risen quite a bit for low grade copies of WT since I was buying pulps in 1999 - 2001 on feebay. Check out this auction for a copy with glue on the spine: REH Conan Weird Tales on feeBay
  6. Thanks. Still wish I had kept the rest of my REH Weird Tales issues - they were in FN or better shape....
  7. ...with a Brundage cover. (thumbs u After picking up the Gnome Conan HCs a couple of weeks ago and seeing this pulp, I think I am going to have to rebuild my REH Weird Tales run sometime soon.......
  8. And last but not least, the Spring 1951 issue of 10 Story Fantasy featuring a classic bondage cover and "The Sentinel" by some guy named Arthur C. Clarke.
  9. A REH Conan Weird Tales that I thought I had sold with the rest of them:
  10. This one must have been a freebie thrown in on a deal or something:
  11. I came across a few pulps while cleaning up the office today that I thought I had sold with the rest of my pulp collection a few years back: Up first - a couple of nice Schomburg covers
  12. Interesting..............I might have to look at selling my copy now. If I recall, there are a couple of stores that still might have them in town.
  13. Thanks for your advice on these. I will probably pick up everything else he has left and post the multiples for sale/trade here on the boards first. You can have first pick of the lot. (thumbs u
  14. Here is the first batch of books that I picked up from the collection today: I am going to check out the comics later this week/next week, as well as his paperbacks.
  15. I know they aren't comics, but I finally gave in and picked up this set of books from a local collector today:
  16. What type of Conan stuff are fellow boardies looking for? I met a local Conan collector today who is sending me a list of his comics and books (HC and SC), but he said he has a ton of movie related memorabilia as well. PM if there is anything in particular that you are looking for. My interest is only in the comics and books, if the price is right!
  17. Never have I seen that before or certainly read before!!! Thanks for posting these for all of us on your Anniversary!!! (thumbs u Thanks, BO. I know there probably aren't many Weird Tales fans here, but I figured there might be a few people who'd get a kick out of seeing such a historic pulp. WOW Nice copy!
  18. Nice! There is an old collector here in town that had most of the old Arkham House hardcovers signed by August Derleth. One of the small time dealers in town sells the books for him. The story he gave me is that this gentleman started collecting comics, pulps, and sci-fi/fantasy books in the late 40s and kept his collection going into the 60s. Unfortunately, he sold off his GA and SA comic collection during the late 60s and early 70s as he felt the prices had peaked! He still has some of the HC books left (although some have been sold to dealers in the US or in auctions), including a few Arkham House books that he and a friend took a road trip to get signed by Derleth. I have been trying to get my hands on them for a few years now but he is not parting with them yet (I have had to settle for his non-Conan Grants, first edition sci-fi paperbacks, and some unread 50s sci-fi pulps/digests/ for now).
  19. Hey BZ, do you have a copy of Action #7 that you care to post?
  20. The time has come to start listing some of my Neal Adams multiples for sale to appease my wife and pay for a trip to Australia this summer. I will start listing books later tonight. Feel free to PM me with specific wants in the meantime.
  21. Now for some nice Neal Adams books: My worst (and last) copy of Avengers #93 - I was hoping for an 8.5 Another copy of Bats #227 from the pile (I had it as 8.0 to 8.5) And another Bats #227 (I had it as 8.5 to 9.0) Batman #243 (bought this from Bob Storms as a VF+ and was curious to see if I could squeeze a 9.0 out of it - small corner crease tip top left bc) Batman #246 (bought as NM from someplace I can't recall - will call for graders' notes as I must have missed something as it looks better) Detective #412 (bought as a raw NM from Metropolis a couple of months ago (thumbs u ) And last but not least, here is another copy of GL #87 ($20 eBay purchase a couple of years ago) from the pile (to go along with the two 9.2s and the 9.4 I sold over the past 6 months )
  22. Just got these back from CGC today: TOS #65 CGC 7.5 (Resub - former PGX 7.5) Captain Savage #12 CGC 9.6 (Resub - former PGX 9.2) Captain Savage #12 CGC 9.6 (Resub - former PGX 9.4)
