  1. Yes, but it is only a lowly 5.0.
  2. Right now is as good a time as any..................
  3. Very nice 6.0 - and welcome to the club!
  4. Even some of the 1960-62 DCs seem to be more common in CR/OW than OW or better. Must have been the difference in paper stock that DC used vs. Marvel? My experience has always been that DC paper stock was better than Marvel from the same period, and that it's not really that hard to find OW-W and W early SA DCs. Interesting. I think my view is skewed a bit by the fact that I have seen way more SA Marvels locally in Alberta than DCs and in almost all cases the Marvels had white pages (thanks to the dry, relatively cooler air up here), while even the few DCs I bought and slabbed were CR/OW to OW.
  5. Yikes! Looks like another book you have to buy now or pay a lot more later.
  6. Looks like GL #7 is a hot book now as well. Not a bad price for a copy with a detached cover: http://cgi.ebay.com/GREEN-LANTERN-7-July-Aug-1961-DC-Comic_W0QQitemZ190327113299QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2c50614653&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14
  7. You need an Atom movie to be announced for the collecting public to take notice.

  9. For a very reasonable price too.
  10. Based on my submission experience, CGC is stricter in grading with DCs than they are with Marvels. My guess is that it has more to do with the volume of Marvel books they receive relative to DCs.
  11. Good call. The pages on that 9.0 are OW.
  12. What was the PQ on the 9.0 copy Clink sold a couple of years back?
  13. Very nice! How long ago did you get it?
  14. That was the case at San Diego as well. I believe that Metropolis sold all 6 copies, but the highest priced copy they had was $575 if I recall correctly. The other copies that were there were overgraded and/or overpriced and they sat. I find it interesting that the market is fairly tight for even accurately graded VG copies right now. This book should not be that tough to find in that condition.
  15. First in line when Rick decides to sell it!
  16. And 55 including and above 5.0.........................
  17. I am not at Chicago, but congratulations again on your purchase. (thumbs u
  18. I did not realize how tough this book is in 5.0 or better condition. Here are the current census details (top grade is 9.0 ): Universal Qualified Signature Series Restored Total 9.0 2 0 0 3 5 8.5 2 0 0 3 5 8.0 3 0 0 0 3 7.5 4 1 0 3 8 7.0 9 0 0 3 12 6.5 3 0 0 4 7 6.0 9 0 0 4 13 5.5 14 0 0 0 14 5.0 11 0 0 8 19 4.5 17 0 0 4 21 4.0 29 0 0 4 33 3.5 22 0 0 3 25 3.0 30 1 0 3 34 2.5 8 0 0 4 12 2.0 7 0 0 0 7 1.8 3 0 0 0 3 1.5 1 0 0 1 2 1.0 6 0 0 0 6 0.5 4 0 0 2 6 Total 184 2 0 49 235
  19. Rick and Brian said it was a 4.0 as well with the stain, so it looks like that is right.
  20. I missed out on this book at the SDCC because Bechera (hopefully I spelled that right) was out of his booth with his children shortly after he arrived on Preview Night. The friend that was watching his stuff said he would put it on hold for me, but when I finally caught up with Bechera on Thursday he said he was working on a trade with another dealer.
  21. I think he was calling it a VG, which it might have been. I saw the stain spot and automatically put it to a 3.0 - stains are a big pet peeve of mine on books and I still think that CGC is not hard enough on them even after they tightened things up recently (and on dust shadows as well).
  22. He called it a 3.0, but Rick and I both felt it was more likely a solid 2.5 with 3.0 potential. Harley Yee should also have one that he picked up at the SDCC, unless it already sold. He was asking $1200 if I recall correctly, and it looked like a 3.0 to me based on a quick glance. It might be higher since I downgraded it for a faint stain and it was an otherwise solid copy.
