1. I think my #5 is slabbed. I'll look when I get home.
2. Not comic books per say (sorry) but some pretty cool outdoor Batman stuff for whenever my friends bring their kids over.
3. I saw the movie last night. I won't give away any spoilers, but you should all see this movie.
4. I didn't enjoy the movie at all, and usually I'm pretty into comic films. The chemistry between Peter, Gwen and Aunt May was very real and very touching. But there was so much that I felt fell flat on it's face, namely the villains. Electro started off great, but as soon as he was fighting Spidey in Times Square it went downhill fast. Oh, and he kind of reminded me of Dr. Manhattan in certain scenes. And whomever played Harry is an awful actor.
5. You can easily find the Cheryl Blossom mini series that was released in the 90's on eBay. She's like Veronica but meaner/has a brother/has red hair.
6. Not soon enough. Issue 4 felt a little slow to me (although it was sad) so hopefully it'll pick back up in issue 5. Plus, I want more Cheryl/Jason. I know whatever is going on with them is totally taboo but I'm completely in love with that angle.
7. Got this for a good price! I love these books, may have to start collecting them.
8. I'd say it's a solid 7.0/7.5 (I feel the lower left corner may bump it back), beautiful copy!
9. Archie 1- Classic Archie 5- I'm a sucker for anything Halloween! Archie 18- Again, Halloween. Archie 20- Jughead's lack of giving a hoot is my favorite part. Archie 50- Again, classic.
10. This is the legendary "headlights" issue featuring art of Betty that in 1951 was considered scandalous enough that many copies of this issue had the cover torn off. Never heard that claim before. Is this urban legend, or did it actually happen? It really happened.
11. Anyone else bidding on this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Archie-Comics-50-May-Jun-1951-Archie-Betty-Sexy-Headlights-Banned-Cover-/181353408216?&autorefresh=true
12. Crimebuster was my backup raffle Santa, and he pulled through with amazing results! I've always loved Rex W. Lindsay. Jughead (as many of you know) is my favorite Archie character. When I opened the package I was floored, and for good reason! I love it, I'm even getting it framed!
13. Archie 1-10 club? I would totes be in that! 50 however I don't have because my ex has it. Jerk.
14. The show on Nick? I didn't know it was based on a comic book.
15. Archie:To Riverdale and Back Again Movie I'm fairly certain I can recite that line by line. I got it on VHS as a child..and naturally fell in love with it.
16. Oh my God, I'm crying tears of joy from that. Thank you Bosco, that made my day! (I looooove Buck Rogers, this is fantastic.)
17. Thanks, Lauren! BTW, have you ever noticed that Archie and The Shield have exactly the same hair color? > Have you ever wondered ...?! > Maybe the Shield moonlights as America's typical teenager!
18. I find the early Peanuts designs to be utterly adorable and charming. Great collection!
19. If this thread needs a little more [font:Comic Sans MS]PEP maybe this'll help. Not all recent, mind you, but here's my part of MLJ saga thus far. Acquired last summer in San Diego, here's a real nice copy of [font:Comic Sans MS]PEP #1 courtesy of my buddy Sir Richard of Bedrock (thank you, sir) ... My MLJ collection is pretty much all pre-[font:Comic Sans MS]Archie. Here are the rest of my [font:Comic Sans MS]PEPs (pulled together over the past four or five years)... To top things off, a couple of sweet [font:Century Gothic]Church copies: [font:Comic Sans MS]SHIELD-WIZARD #7 (uncredited Kirby cover) & #27 (first Spidey, The Web)... [font:Comic Sans MS]Whew! >>> Budduh-buddah-buddah, That's All Folks! Such beautiful pre Archie books! Though I can't imagine having an Archieless MLJ collection. I never even thought that was possible! (I know it is, MLJ has a wide variety of non Archie titles.)
20. You are on a roll. Pep 22 (First Archie), Batman 1, Captain America 1 and 2 (on your other website). I didn't expect to nab that #2 last night! Maybe tonight I'll get luck and win that Miss America #1...
