  1. I agree that $500 was too much. I sent an offer of $200, he countered with 3, and I took it. Here is the thing for me...My TMNT collection (which is...unreasonably extensive) is all about historical documentation and preservation. Now, bootleg or not, these books undoubtedly hold a significant place in the history of Mirage. So I felt they were worth every penny. Especially since these books are just about as rare as the original prints as far as the number of them that are still out there go. Very well said. Nice pick up!
  2. That is a VERY nice batch of books you have there!!!
  3. Much obliged kind sir. The cover art is fantastic on many I have seen. Some of the Star Spangled and World's Finest are great too. Tomahawk #1 in itself is a fantastic cover.
  4. Thank-you Jeffro. Is Tomahawk a good read vs. other D.C. Westerns and to the Marvel ones noted up above? Or isi t in a different in a different class since it's a frontier book? What other frontier books do you compare or reccomend?
  5. Anybody? Your takes on the art and story of TOMAHAWK.
  6. Great Thread Guys! Once again love all the knowledge and great scans given here. I always wondered what some of the keys were to these titles! What is all of your professional opinions' on TOMAHAWK, by DC. Story wise and Art wise? Eric
  7. You are more than welcome Andrew and..... LETS GO HAWKS!
  8. Andrew, very well said! And YES thanks to you many will enjoy these books just as you and your Father have. I do feel the Toth collecting story, the passion (than and now) and just the Father/Son camaraderie all make for a great foundation (argument in my humble opinion) for a Pedigree designation. All the best with your collection Eric
  9. That is just insanely awesome! Very, very nice collection!
  10. I appreciate the kind words guys and the warm welcome! Andrew thank-you for putting on a helmut to get to my level and explain how to directly paste an image to the post! I thank-you! (I do have a Mac (just switched 3 months ago....very happy) so things like a "right click" are now very different with these!) My collecting interests are definitely that of Marvel/Superhero 1960 to present. My Wife and I now have a 3 month year old boy .....so my unrelenting collecting fever has been cooled quite a bit. It is for a far greater cause, as I am sure many here would agree!!! He is my most "desired collectible" now! I am a big fan of DD, TOS, X-men, Spidey, Avengers, Groo, Wolvie (I was born in 78 so let me be!) and the sorts. I find myself collecting: "first three appearances" of characters I grow a liking to, first ten books of a title, certain runs for a certain writers sake, small runs for certain stories and some books just for the love of artists' covers. My wonderful OCD also lends itself to me ONLY collecting 9.4 at least ow/w pre 1979 and 9.6 at least ow/w post 1980. I found by doing this it does keep a salary cap on my collecting....unfortunately with some earlier issues the 9.4s do get a wee bit pricey! I only have two 9.2s pre 1979 in my collection, my DD #1 & #7 both ow/w (I have Doug & Josh to thank for those)......to keep my WONDERFUL wife happy there will be no upgrading on those two books due to what I would have to buy her in return!!!!! It is nice to finally be a part of this "eclectic" group! I have had many laughs from some of these posts! Thanks guys. Eric
  11. Hello Board Members! NEWB here. This is my first post (well 2nd technically, my first was yesterday in the WTB forum so I don't count it as an official post) and I want to first state that ALL OF YOU have been such a valuable resource to my comic collecting and everything else in between. I truly appreciate all of the insight and passion for collecting I have read through these boards, In a sense I feel like you guys could charge for some of the great advice you share here. I truly THANK ALL OF YOU!!! Yes, I have been one of those "anonymous" users for too long and I finally decided to change that and hopefully contribute. Ok enough of trying to be nice to avoid any hazing! Please tell me if did this posting of a scan correct. I am embarrassed to say how long it took me to hopefully get part of this right! If it is not viewable would someone be so kind and PM me on how to do it correctly. The sad part is I am only 30......so you think I would have a clue on how to do this. I'm a big Black Widow fan so this origin issue is an important one to me - the pedigree is a bonus! Hope it works! Regards, Eric Avengers #44
