  1. Well....its almost as cool as the Goddess in your pics!!!
  2. I wish my Wife was like that! She used to be a big Phish fan but as she says she grew up and now just attends two MAYBE three shows a year with me. She thinks since we are 32 and have 20 month old son....that Phish, The Dead and Funny Books should be outta my system............FAT CHANCE!
  3. Thank-you!!! I'm in the basement. Or as my Wife calls it the "BatDork Cave"
  4. Thank-you guys for all the love! Storm Shadow you were correct. Those are my MJ Rookie cards (one is that Fleer Rookie sticker card) Walter "Sweetness Payton" and Sir Charles. All of my Hockey cards are in a closet. I am NOT HAPPY with Byfuglien GONE!!!! Ok since there appears to be some "Phanatics" here you go! (I have been to too many Phish shows) If you don't like Phish or the Dead I apologize ahead of time. All of the Pollock and Cambell posters I attended and the two abstract ones are Trey's work from that Art Festival. (Mr. "Bobby" Weir on the right) For any DEADHEADS out there.....as for the Skull and Cross Bone book below the Divided Sky pic...that is probably my FAVORITE DEAD MEMORABILIA item I own. That one is an Artist Proof one in mint condition, #11/50. I also own four of the Limited Edition ones. Three are in the shrink wrap still and one reader copy. I have copy and pasted the description of the books directly from Kitchen Sink's Website (even if you aren't a Grateful Dead fan, there are some great stories and artists' work in the Comic!!!:
  5. Well at the time I just wanted a 9.4 ow/w Spidey #16 and Roy said he could make an all White one, but it would be an SS one, come into fruition. I don't have any Stan signed books in my collection so I went with it. I'm happy he didn't sign on DD's yellow costume in all honesty! But not on either character would be the best. I'm just stoked to have my 9.4 white Spidey when it's all said and done.
  6. I just posted this in the Kudos Thread. But than I saw this thread and looked up my book on the Census to see where it stands. It appears to be the lone highest. Thanks again Roy!
  7. This shout out goes to the Crazy Canadian, who goes by the name Roy. Thanks Mandinga for making this book come into my clammy clutches!!! You're Good People!
  8. This is from my old house. We are almost done building our new home.....I'll post my Den when its done.
  9. I don't care who you are.....that cover is SO SWEET!!!!
  10. I feel you are 100% CORRECT on both accounts. (especially the latter, very sound investment (thumbs u )
  11. Any chance you are open to adopting more children? Dan Too funny!!! You definitely get Father of the year award!!!
  12. And what a SWEET WHITE addition it is to the pile! Congratulations!
  13. Sweet book! Definitely one of the best DD covers!
  14. Will CGC ever consider doing "bulk rates" for reholdering books. I will be sending another batch of 50-75 books in to be reholdered. Between the $11.00 a piece reholdering fee and insuring all the books, which a good portion being over $1,000 and some over $7,000......it gets to be real pricey endeavor, one which I honestly never look forward to. I'm trying to preserve (90% of the books I reholder I have not intention on selling for many years) my books for my kids or others kids. I am going on your guideline of reholdering them every 7+ years. I just feel a "bulk rate" would be a nice option to make it more affordable for collectors and in the long run, better for preserving what makes our hobby. Sincerely, Eric
  15. Danny you have a valid possibility there. I have heard of some comic book stores doing this books and some record stores with albums in the past. (It was cheap and easy advertising) An actual example is - My Father in Law used to work at Head shop in college and he said the owner used to have em use a razor blade to cut the top part of many new albums off to hang on the wall. It was easier to drive a thumbtack through (and stay in the wall) than the whole album. He did it to many CLASSIC now COVETED albums he said. They also used to sell some comics too. Along the lines of the Faboulous Furry Freak Brothers and other Crumb books and they did the same, ripped off the cover and taped or tacked em up. Maybe E & L did this with a couple. I did witness the slow death of a PURDY TMNT #1 fresh off the rack. This older kid I knew a couple blocks down used to roll his copy up and swat bees with it in his room. (also it was a "rolling station" a time or two for his "greenery" I recall!) Furthermore, he doodled on most of his comics front to back...along with a couple of his Dad's SA books. (The kid was actually a big comic fan and a darn good artist, too bad he didn't doodle on his folders or text books like most of us!) That leaves us with 2999 copies to account for.
  16. Helleva a list you compiled! Good initiative on this my man! (thumbs u I always pondered the number of accounted books. rabidwolf.....all I can say is....WOW! Very SMART investing on your part! btw, my book is signed also on the inside front cover by the dynamic duo.
  17. That is so sweet when you know the story on a book you covet, let alone a grail. Very cool stuff man. HELLEVA BOOK! (BTW, sounds like the owner has good taste in women!)
  18. Yea in all honestly I thought the book was a 9.2 tops, but all three graders gave it a 9.4, so what the heck do I know. I did not call before to find out the grade, so it was really exciting to open the box and see a 9.4! The white pages was icing on the cake too! As for YOUR book, honestly I think the premium you paid was well deserved. That white page, signed and sketched copy is without a doubt the nicest copy I have seen for sale. Not only is the book incredible, but so is the history. At some point, some person is going to pay AT LEAST 2x's what you did to get a 9.8 and it wont look any better. The only difference is you have 2 signatures and original artwork in yours that you are 99% certain is authentic. My kind of book  That even makes your comic more grand! Thinking a lower grade....and than find out three for three at the "round table" for designating it halfa grade higher..... Thank-you for fivin my purchase. As Danny knows I wanted one for the longest time and an all white 9.6 was too much to resist at that time. (though as I discussed I was a bit disheartened at the last LOW sale on one) And part of pulling the trigger on this one did come into fruition a little easier due to the sigs. and sketches. Since Doug did send along that certificate from Metropolis stating he was there at the that Florida expo back in 86, when they both were "Herbie Hancocking" quite a few TMNT books, especially #1s at the event.....that was legit enough for me. Was yours signed there? ........Danny, my main man livin at Terrapin Station, as you know if my kid(s) end up havin no love for our coveted mutated foursome....I can't think of a more warm n fuzzy, a more honorable and appropriate casa than yours. (thumbs u
  19. That is fricken great! (Reminds me something Chevy Chase could have said to Noonan!)
