  1. I got an update from my LCS that submitted the books for me. 4 Books Economy Delivered 7/12/21 Received/SFG - 9/2/21
  2. I went to a wedding last night and drank my face off, woke up and went and watched football all day at a bar. Thought I had sobered up until I came home and read the last 30 hours of this thread.
  3. The struggle is real! I say the same but shiny things....
  4. I can remember one of the covers being ASM #73 and this was 1972 or 1973 so the book was only 3-4 years old at that point. They were a bit older than me so 10 -11 seems about right. I remember he kept them in his suitcase.
  5. I started understanding the value and the need to take care of my books around 1975/76 but remember the "cool" older kids at camp around 72 having comics that they wouldn't let me read. That really sparked my interest in the hobby.
  6. I was thinking a Holiday Treasury/Grab bag but can't find any evidence.
  7. According to https://tainthemeat.wordpress.com/2018/03/11/marvel-calendar-1978/ The art seems like Byrne but not sure if it was ever published elsewhere.
  8. Not signed in front of me but the first book I ever bought at a con. 1978 at the NYC comic con. $8
  9. No time, I've just come to read the meter. How many times have you left collecting? For me it was three times. Sophomore year of high school (because girls ) until 4 year later when I met up with a guy from college who re-introduced me via the Perez run of the Teen Titans, I was all in after that. The second time was from 1989 to to early 1994 where it came a choice of paying rent or comics. The third was from 2014 to 2019 where I didn't buy anything but moderns. Single primary parent with a daughter in college so priorities took precedence but I'm making up for it in the past 2 years! Quick aside, the guy from college now is the owner of my LCS so full circle there I guess.
  10. I've met Ted a couple times at the Boston Fan Expo including when we used to get together for forum beers "dinners" and have purchased raw books from him a couple times. Super nice guy and really spot on with his grading. He's on the boards and has been running some recent sales threads like here:
  11. I have a nearly complete run of ASM (3 issues plus Annual #1 to go) and full runs of every Spider-man major series (Web, PPTSS, MTU V1-5 etc...) with the exception of Marvel Tales and one other random series like Web-spinners. It's about 10 long boxes. Lol, yeah I'm that guy. I also have a full run on Uncanny X-men 94 to the latest volume just for good measure.
  12. I have used @HOTFLIPS in the past but they are out of stock and their prices are super high right now likely due to what @theCapraAegagrus mentioned. I decided to go with the wait for E-gerber and ordered 2K of bags and boards and hope to have that order filled by mid-October . I still need about 100 to address moderns and recent purchases but my LCS should be able to hook me up by the end of September.
  13. Fair amount of sales for issue #1 in 9.8 and 9.6. Check covrprice as it's free. Two recent sales on eBay this week below. Best to throw your copies in the Hey buddy, can you spare a grade area to get an assessment of the condition and take it from there. Covrprice last two months for 9.8: SEP 2021 $195.00 - 09/11/21 $195.00 - 09/10/21 $189.00 - 09/10/21 $153.50 - 09/04/21 $154.38 - 09/03/21 AUG 2021 $199.95 - 08/24/21 $179.99 - 08/23/21 $293.00 - 08/16/21 $179.00 - 08/15/21 $139.99 - 08/15/21 $134.99 - 08/15/21 $142.49 - 08/11/21 $134.99 - 08/06/21 $180.00 - 08/05/21 $180.00 - 08/05/21 eBay:
  14. That's awesome, love date stamps Great placement!
  15. I have had one letter published Back in 1979 I wrote into Spectacular Spider-man and (incorrectly) guessed the identity of Carrion as Bart Hamilton who was Harry Osborn's psychiatrist in ASM #'s176-180. If I recall correctly, the clues given were designed to lead us in that direction so they called that out in the response. Still really cool to read the book and see my letter in print. I believe it was published in PPTSS #32 but would need to check.
