I'd also like to appeal to anyone considering buying a purple label to NOT buy it in the hope of getting resto removal and flipping it as a blue label. Resto removal almost always involves defacing the cover by cutting or scraping away the restoration and inevitably results in a comic with far less eye appeal than prior to the "improvement."

I have no problem adding keys to my collection with restoration as long as the comics are priced accordingly (my usual rule is 50% of the same grade in blue). However, I do not consider trimming acceptable restoration and would never knowingly buy a trimmed book. Color touch is fine - as a previous poster mentioned, I would rather have an almost unnoticeable (by design) bit of color touch on a cover than a big black sig. And tear seals to my mind are more conservation than restoration. Here is one pretty purple I recently added to my own collection at a great price.

MCS is promising payment will be in account by end of this week.

The books are still hanging around in the unpaid ether. When this has happened (rarely) to me before I believe it had to do with MCS awaiting a promised check from the buyer. Still waiting to hear from MCS if that is the case this time and when/if payment can be expected or if the books will go back into my consignments.

The Grading Contests have consistently shown boardies to be far better graders. Let me know when some of those contest winners write a book!

Agreed, often all it takes is a different hairstyle (looking at you, King Viserys) to make an actor appear older.

If I think a key is priced where I want it I don't lower it. For non-keys I will drop it the minimum 5% to get it back on the new listing if I am anxious to move it.

I am sure it goes without saying, but there is a charge to have the book returned. I usually wait until I have a few to combine the shipping.

There will always be more...patience, grasshopper.

I always tell my friend who is new to the hobby and only looks at the CGC label, "All 9.4s are not created equal!"
