  1. The envelope is attached along the top edge of the comic (side of the envelope) only.

The survey and corresponding letter are tucked inside the envelope.

You can carefully pull them out and put them back in without damaging the comic, leaving the envelope attached.

The corresponding other two issues would be Spectacular Spider-man 84 and Star Wars 77.

    Both cover dated Nov. 1983

The CGC Census does not show a variant except for Canadian price variants for any of these three issues.

Here's a Transformers 3D issue apparently sealed in the bag with the glasses Blackthorne provided for this one.

Here's a loose Sheena with a pair of 3D glasses provided, but I'm not sure if these were the ones issued with this particular copy:

And here's the Blackthorne-issued glasses that I (vaguely) remember:

Look close at that Transformer comic and you will see that it is placed "not sealed" in a regular comic bag and backer board.  Probably "sealed" with tape at the back. And that is not the glasses that would have been distributed with it.  The seller may have bought it as it is and doesn't know.

Yes the GI Joe comic has the kind of 3D glasses that were handed out loosely for me at point of sale.  I got the same type with Blackthorne and some Eclipse.  The glasses would not have been folded over yet to fit your face yet.  I usually put the 3D glasses behind the backing board to keep them with the comic, one end folded back to fit them in the bag.

As far as Dave Stevens 3D covers, Sheena and 3D Seduction of the Innocent came with a loose pair of glasses

3D Zone 16 came with glasses very similar to the Eclipse inserted type - two pair attached together that you have to put together

    Pictures as follows:

    1. compares the type you got loose compared to Eclipse type inserted into books that you had to put together

2 and 3. Eclipse type glasses pulled out but not put together, showing each side

  3. When the Sheena 3D came out,  I was buying comics at Comics Nuff Said in Charlotte and remember Norma Smith (one of the owners) telling me to put the glasses on and look at the covers of the rest of comics on the shelves. They looked more colorful even though they did not have a 3D effect, it was kindof neat and a different effect, thinking am I high or what (oh to be young again). That Sheena was one of the first 3D comics I bought.

As I recall, Blackthorne 3D comics came sealed in a clear bag with an already assembled and ready to use pair of plain while paper framed standard 3D glasses.

I was buying comics new at a LCS during this time.  Many 3D comics (which I was collecting at the time) came with loose 3D glasses that was given to you at the point of sale, some came with two pair of 3D glasses inserted between the covers and first wrap that you would have to take out and assemble.  These glasses were "narrower" than the others . I think some LCS bagged and boarded and inserted a loose pair inside with the comic at the point of sale.

Most Blackthorne 3D comics came with a loose pair given to you, most Eclipse 3D comics came with glasses inserted (attached).  There are exceptions.  Some examples that I still have that I remember.

Sheena 3D - my LCS handed out a loose pair of glasses with purchase (the white paper one with blue and red lenses that you folded to use).

3D Seduction of the Innocent (Eclipse) was the same, loose glasses given to you.

Three Stooges 3D (Eclipse) 3 issues - had the glasses inserted inside.

3D Zone 16 - had the glasses inserted inside.

It is kindof confusing now as a lot of people think all the 3D comics came with glasses attached when originally sold.

  5. At the time these were published, (I got mine at a nearby 7-11), 121 was the huge shock.  122 was the highly anticipated (is she really dead?) next issue that turned out to

be the no holds barred fight, Peter is out for the Goblin's blood and nothing is going to stop him from finding him.  I would go with 121 as it's the unbelievable issue at the time.

My last submission to sell direct to mycomicshop.   All late copper age.  Just grade very tight, look very close and you will be ok.  I actually lowered all my grades by a half/grade when I offered them so I'm about on par with their grading.  Not all of my submissions come out like this - usually a few of their grades are lower than mine.  Everyone downgrades differently for individual defects.

  7. I never liked it, and I bought them all new when they came out - I was in High School.  The New Gods, Forever People, Mister Miracle, Sandman, Jimmy Olsen - the artwork was better than the reading.  DC hyped them a lot "Kirby is Coming" and the books just did not do anything for me at all.  They still don't.  I bought and read Hunger Dogs when it came out much later and didn't like that either.  The Fourth World books are something you will either love or hate.

I'm thinking the TAT was 144 days for Value when I sent it in, however that may not be right.

Well - This morning 11/17/21 the status changed to...  Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging

  11. The Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books Vol One (A-J) and Vol Two (K-Z)

$65.00 shipped media mail in the USA

Bought these a few years ago new and factory sealed - they arrived with some corner dings, no big deal to me.

I've opened them up and looked through them a few times, nice to see books you can never afford or may never see.

There is no writing or marking in the books, the dustcovers have some shelf wear, rubs on corners, a small tear on the spine.
