PGM Hulk Annual #1
andrehanderson replied to andrehanderson's topic in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?
Thanks! Yeah, my primary reason to slab it is because I think it's a top 10 cover of all time--but would obviously like as high a grade as possible. -

That's some business. Send me your book and I'll assign it a grade. You have no idea what my qualifications are or how I arrived at that grade, but if you dont like the grade I can always clean and press it for you and provide you with another spitball. How do I know it isn't a spitball? I can't know it without notes.

It is absolutely not a waste of their time. It is the only thing that will save their business in the long run. You know as well as I do that these books are important to people--either as a personal collectible they cherish, or as an investment. Either way, if there is no transparency then the entire value of the service is at risk. This is a fragile hobby--after all, how long will people want to spend thousands of dollars for a book that was meant to be perishable when it was created? It is all based on perceived value, and if the standards aren't clear then people will give up. I'm ready to give up on graded books because the two leaders in the field cant seem to put the customer first.

What a ^&%*@ JOKE this whole CCS/CGC scam is. UNBELIEVABLE. I sent it to CCS and paid for fast track. Took them nearly a month, despite supposed turnaround times of 7 working days. Sent it in a 9.2 and after the amazing work at CCS, it has now been regraded... a 9.2. AND ONCE AGAIN, NO &#*@& NOTES. I'm done with them and I'm going to see what their customer service is able to do for me. If nothing, I'm going to see if I have any other kind of consumer protection recourse. This is a joke. Scam.
