  1. Thanks! Yeah, my primary reason to slab it is because I think it's a top 10 cover of all time--but would obviously like as high a grade as possible.
  2. Thanks for taking the time to review it and provide an estimate.
  3. It's light reflecting...sorry about the bad pic.
  4. This is before cleaning and pressing, obviously
  5. That's some business. Send me your book and I'll assign it a grade. You have no idea what my qualifications are or how I arrived at that grade, but if you dont like the grade I can always clean and press it for you and provide you with another spitball. How do I know it isn't a spitball? I can't know it without notes.
  6. Then there is no point to having a comic graded. What recourse is there if a clearly NM book is graded a 5.0? If it's all subjective and we have to simply accept the grade without any indication as to what led to it then it has no value at all.
  7. It is absolutely not a waste of their time. It is the only thing that will save their business in the long run. You know as well as I do that these books are important to people--either as a personal collectible they cherish, or as an investment. Either way, if there is no transparency then the entire value of the service is at risk. This is a fragile hobby--after all, how long will people want to spend thousands of dollars for a book that was meant to be perishable when it was created? It is all based on perceived value, and if the standards aren't clear then people will give up. I'm ready to give up on graded books because the two leaders in the field cant seem to put the customer first.
  8. When will people give up on the lack of transparency? It's a great business model to claim to do something but have to show absolutely no evidence of actually doing it. And if you show no evidence, you'll still have people defending you claiming that what the customer is asking for is "magical."
  9. Yeah, I get that, but gee NOTES would have saved me a lot of expense and trouble. That's the whole point of the thread.
  10. What a ^&%*@ JOKE this whole CCS/CGC scam is. UNBELIEVABLE. I sent it to CCS and paid for fast track. Took them nearly a month, despite supposed turnaround times of 7 working days. Sent it in a 9.2 and after the amazing work at CCS, it has now been regraded... a 9.2. AND ONCE AGAIN, NO &#*@& NOTES. I'm done with them and I'm going to see what their customer service is able to do for me. If nothing, I'm going to see if I have any other kind of consumer protection recourse. This is a joke. Scam.
