  1. I’m assuming this only applies to Vampirella art? 🤔
  2. March: My first Jack Kirby piece and truly an awesome page! I had been looking for a Captain America page for some time, but in this industry where prices are so high, I was fortunate that this became available. It was the right place at the right time. The stars were aligned.
  3. Last year I was listening to a Felix Art podcast, and one of the guests, I believe it was Andy Robbins, said that one piece a month is still a great collection. For this year it made me reconsider my approach to collecting, and felt this was a good way to go. It has been difficult at times, and I have turned down pieces I liked, but were not must haves. The other part for me is to fund these pieces by selling or trading other collectibles. That definitely makes it harder, and requires more discipline. So, here are my pieces so far for the year. You may have seen some on CAF already, but the March piece is new. January: Todd McFarlane Spiderman 9 Wolverine Splash. This was obtained from a fellow collector who knew I was interested in it for some time. It drips with nostalgia and I am excited to bits to have it! https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1601536 February: Adam Hughes Batgirl 5 cover. I had been pursuing this cover for some time, and this time the stars were aligned. Truly a masterpiece on so many artistic levels. I really could not have asked for more! https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1606376
  4. That was a quick one! Also I’m sure there is buyers premium as well.
  5. The realty is that as demand goes up, service goes down. That is the case with many dealers. They know they have the demand so don’t care how customers are treated.
  6. And Mike we all live with the decisions we make but comics and comic art is not my life Like it is for you. I have a great career, and a great family. I understand that those things aren’t your focus, but you have millions in cash. I don’t go on comic boards and brag about having hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash which you offer to people to buy art. How does that work. Why do you carry so much cash?
  7. 609 is South Jersey Mike. I’m in North Jersey and never had a 609 area code. Stop flattering yourself. And last I checked, this is not a sales thread though you’ve had no issues self promoting your site with every other post.
  8. Mike I have zero interest in trying to “bring you down.” I choose no longer to deal with you and many others in this hobby due to the fact that you feel your actions are excusable. Whether I speak to you here or at a show, I would hardly expect an honest answer. All things are taken with a grain of salt. That being said, newcomers in the hobby should know the truth of all that has happened. Thank you for confirming it again here so we don’t have to dig up old threads, some of which are long gone.
  9. Nice! I actually have an incomplete copy I bought prob 20 years ago. But the cover is low grade. Probably a 2.0 at best.
  10. Or find an incomplete copy of detective 26 and swap your interior. What shape is your front cover in?
  11. Bat 1 and Superman 1 back covers are a nightmare. Easiest book are early Batman and Superman. More Fun’s are tough. My best books completed are Sensation 1, Detective 28,29,33,35,38 Action 3,4,5,7,8,12,13 etc
  12. Take 10% off these books Avengers 57 CGC 9.0 OW/W $975 Sensation 12 CGC 3.0 OW/W Has unnecessary tape. $399 Fantastic Four 45 CGC 5.5 OW/W SOLD X-Men 101 CGC 5.0 OW $250
  13. It’s fun but requires great patience. I started with parts in the late 90’s when in college. My budget was limited but parts/incomplete books were affordable. I’ve managed to piece together some great keys over the years.
  14. I think for big keys, green will command more than moderate to extensive purple. I have a Detective 33 I pieced together and it came back a 1.0 Qualified. I thought it would be higher, but with low grade books its hard to know. I could see it going for about 75% back of a blue label due to demand. Of course it depends on the book and the demand.
