  2. I also had a few artists I signed up for on Thursday but did not complete by Sunday. Maybe they are taking on more than they can handle?
  3. Bought a low grade phantom lady 14. Interesting when I was looking through the pages...stories are doubled! Anyone seen this before?
  4. It was Jean and Scott kissing in the last panel. Jean was about to leave in a car.
  5. Had an interesting experience. Price of a piece doubled within 30 minutes even after he agreed to hold it.
  6. Fun cover! Wonder why Marvel didn’t use it for an X-men variant.
  7. As long as we are twirling towards freedom
  8. You’re absolutely right! Some pieces have better stories than others but most do hold nostalgia.
  9. I would but to me this isn’t just stuff, it’s deeply nostalgic to me. Would be hard to let it go. Can’t all be Elsa ya know
  10. My POV comes from the fact that most dealers have comics purely as inventory. I’ve even heard some say they could care less about the stuff, it’s their bread and butter and everything is for sale. What collectors have which can be a disadvantage is an emotional attachment to what they’re buying. To some dealers it’s just stock.
  11. Nicole Virella and Tom Reilly do amazing work at very affordable prices.
  12. I’ve opened quite the can of worms. Perhaps a new thread should be started?
  13. Hindsight is always crystal clear. Would you make the same gamble today if the art was worth $500,000 and priced at $600,000?
  14. So based on this logic, would you hesitate paying future value prices for Ditko art? Let say a page with 100% market value is $25,000 today. Would you pay $30,000 without concern of time catching up to that value? I’m not sure how many of us could stomach such a risk.
  15. Price discovery is nothing new in this hobby. If you feel something is worth “x” pricing it at 2x is common practice. What worries me is when people with more money than brains buy these items and have to resell for some reason. I’m referring to 5 figure and higher pieces where the loss potential can be significant. Will these collectors stay in a hobby where they realized how much they overpaid? Likely not.
  16. Most dealers have tax exemption. Another from August: https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/splash-pages/jack-kirby-and-mike-royer-captain-america-211-splash-page-1-original-art-marvel-1977-/a/7192-93148.s http://www.romitaman.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=23174&ArtistId=921
