  1. Ah the benefits in dealing in parts are endless!
  2. It doesnt always match, but in many cases it does. Detective 38 is a unique back cover as it says "To the readers of Detective comics". The back cover that is up on ebay does not match either Action 13 or Tec 28. In both of those books the boy's shirt is a different color. CGC would pick up on it immediately. I emailed the seller to let him know.
  3. Thats actually a board member here who posted that. Would be much cheaper to buy the corresponding Adventure or More Fun. How would you know the difference? Most Adventure and More Fun's were cut shorter than Actions and Detectives. Otherwise there is no way to tell. The asking price on ebay is downright silly. You can buy a complete More Fun 44 for $500 and take the back cover from that. In most cases, corresponding month/year of Action, Detective, Adventure, and More Fun had the same back covers.

  5. Very nice examples comicdonna! Both of mine are around G, which is my favorite grade actually. Here is another oldy but a favorite of mine: And a newp thanks to a board member:
  6. Did Action 15 and 17 recently jump in value? I remember when I was collecting 8-9 years ago, they werent really considered anything major.
  7. The bottom left corner of that book definetly looks brittle.
  8. Very nice Bat 1! Mine looks very similar actually but has tape on the spine.
  9. What condition? Bad. ! Here are some close up images:
  10. Here are some..but they are only covers! No interiors :-)
  11. No major changes actually other than adding more. These are all sitting in the bank right now. The only change is that the Action 5 pictured was coverless with a xerox cover. I sold that, and now have a complete one. And I have added an Action 3 as well. In fact, the action 3 was not complete, but was bought missing pages, and I found a coverless, same for the action 4! I just have to get them married. The action 12 I found just a cover front and back, and found a complete coverless! The Detectives, the only change is adding a coverless #29. I have a few more parts of Detective 38 as well. These were all taken in 2001 when I was still in college. I had very little money, but via parts was able to assemble a great collection. It is very doable, but might be more expensive today. I was looking through some stuff, and I still have a lot of parts. Some covers only, coverless books, centerfolds only etc. Its a great feeling completing a book! I love parts! Cue wedding music
  12. Here's a few more pics from over 10 years ago. Many changes have occured since.
  13. Here are some old pics of my collection, and my favorite book: This one has extensive restoration, mainly on the spine.
