  1. Can we have a vote on it and start ten different threads? Heh, if you do that, can I start at least three different threads complaining about the unfairness of some part of it? -slym
  2. Anyone interested in some Uncanny X-Men in the 160-200 range? I have some sets I am going to list on eBay this weekend, but I will certainly sell them here first in there's any interest. Raw, some are in great shape, some not so much. -slym
  3. So, this is the thread to be in, it seems. Or is it??? -slym
  4. People were saying the same thing 3 years ago... Clearly they were wrong. 3 years ago WD was in season what, 2 ? Things were going well for the show. It was in full swing and interesting. Past tense. Also 3 years ago people were saying WD 1 9.8 would likely be selling for 5K by now. Ummm.... no. I I work for law enforcement and work with hundreds of people. Not one person I talk with is getting tired of the show. In fact they like the show better every season. I don't know what some of you guys are talking about. The show has over 15 million people watching it every week. It's the only show that I consistently hear people talking about and people love this show. The only time I ever hear negative comments about the walking dead is on this website and other comic websites. I also hear some bad comments at my LCS. So besides comic guys I have NEVER heard one person say anything bad about the show. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but the show is not close to ending. I think Kirkman mentioned he has enough material already written for 12 seasons. The TV show will most likely be on for at least 6 more years and who knows it could go on for 15 or more seasons. Plus I'm sure once it does end they will probably have a Walking Dead movie. I have heard the same song and dance comments on this website about how this show stinks and will be ending soon. Well it's not going to happen for many years folks. The ratings are incredible and the general public loves the show. For every comic guy who disses the show there are thousands of regular guys/gals that love the show. One more thing I keep hearing some of you dissing the comic and claiming the price is going to go way down. Well I’m glad I did not listen to any of you because the price has been going up the last couple of years. According to GPA the 2014 average price for a CGC 9.8 copy was $1,982. The 2015 average price was $2,075 and the current 90 average price is $2,424. The last copy sold went for $2,900. Issue #2 will now cost you around $1,100 to obtain. The current 90 average price is $1,179. Plus for those of you who read the wanted to buy forum you will see ample collectors trying to get some of the tougher issues to find and they are offering over 200% of GPA for some issues. Bottom Line: The Walking Dead is HOT. The comic is one of the best comics to hit the stands each month and the TV show is one of the most popular shows on TV. Of course some people don’t like it but the overwhelming majority of people do and that means the show and comic will be around for a long time. Couldn't of stated it better Interesting. Personally, I couldn't have stated it better. -slym
  5. One thing I've never understood about SS books is how they are graded. If the book is say (for the sake of argument) a 9.8 before the signature, does it stay 9.8 if the signature is SS (authenticated) but drops in grade if it was signed without authenticity? The sig series label is another qualified label. The signatures are verified, thus they aren't simply writing on the cover. The book is a 9.8, for example, without the signatures and the signatures are certified as witnessed giving it a yellow label instead of green. Both the green and yellow are types of qualfications. -slym
  6. I had the same thought. Sorry 'bout that... I was just catching up. If this board had a multi-quote function, I could respond to 20 posts in one response. It does keep my post-count up, though... -slym
  7. And the answer to that is "yes." Wow. Perfect wording for this. People have far too much hate for something as simple as a comic-book board to hump the button on you as much as they do. *sigh* Let's hope the tyranny doesn't extend out to the mods & you again. -slym
  8. Looks that way. Sad, too... -slym
  9. Did not reply to 3 of these types of messages, just opened an NPB claim. Got this My response: And, of course, when confronted, out come the claws, the truth...as always: My response: \ Response: My response: Response: and My response: And Response: My response: Final response (for now) Yes, I know, I KNOW, I probably shouldn't be getting into these back and forths with these people on eBay....but if no one EVER stands up to people doing these things, and gives some pushback, what happens....? The same thing, over and over again, to countless sellers, doing harm to both those sellers AND Mario. And he DOES look like he has great feedback....he's even done business with Pastaroni...but he's playing a game, at some level, regardless of how true the things he's claiming are or not. Still...if should make for an interesting read on a Sunday morning. Question: If he pays for the book and leaves negative feedback for lets say "poor customer service" which is an opinion are you going to be mad? I'm not saying you provided poor customer service in any form. I'm just asking as he can hammer your reputation by leaving a negative and it is an opinion on your customer service so eBay isn't going to remove it. Why would I be mad? I'll just have CAK and Kav dial up eBay for me, and get the neg removed. -slym

  11. Then, later in the day: I did not reply to either message. Notice the subtle, implied threat: "if you make me pay for the item, and you send the item, I will return it, and you will be out the postage, too." Today, received payment. I refunded, Paypal takes 30 cent non-negotiable transaction fee, and eBay takes the 30 listing fee, and refuses to protect me from either negative feedback or being stolen from. The corruptness of eBay never, ever ceases to amaze me. I recommend blocking dragonjab Why didn't you just cancel to begin with and move on? What point did you end up proving there? That people should honor their commitments...? I know, crazy! I didn't cancel because the buyer made a commitment to buy the item, and he/she was asking to be let out of that commitment with no cost. I wasn't about to do that, and would have filed a NPB case if it came to that. It did not. Have fun jousting your windmills I do, and will. And if Dragonjab loses the opportunity to buy from a few people because of his/her game-playing...maybe he/she will think about it before doing it to someone else. That's obviously a very large "maybe", but who knows? You think that's "jousting a windmill"..? Sure, no problem. Knock yourself out. What's your eBay user id? -slym
  12. If you have stuff I want, I'll buy it I feel like if you back out of deals due to an admitted lack of funds, ebay should suspend your account for 3 months at least. I agree, but we all know it'll never happen. -slym

  14. Great buyer, fast payment and keeps in contact! I wouldn't hesitate to do business with Colin again! -slym
  15. Roy,, As long as you don't deliberately deceive someone or cherry pick data it's fine. Your job is to list the book and find a buyer. It's the buyer's job to determine if the price works for him. And if someone finds books selling cheaper at one auction site over another and can profit from it more power to him. That's the reward for knowing the market and the venues better than the average bear. -slym
  16. It is the essence of good manners that one is precisely NOT thinking out loud! It is also in the essense of good manners to not intentionally try to rip off people I bet eBay just sends you into quite the tizzy. -slym
