  1. Sure it can! http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/cameo?s=t Ignore #'s 1&2, #3 is for comics and other literary works, #4 is for movies. By definition #3, a cameo can be a 1st appearance as well. -slym
  2. Another reason for two encapsulation machines - so non-fast-track orders aren't sitting around while FT orders get done. They charge enough for all these fast track orders, you'd think they'd have made enough extra money for a 2nd encapsulation machine! And when there are no FT orders ( ) then all the regular books can take up both machines! -slym
  3. I think Solar #10 brings minimal profit at a 9.6 - I think. *goes to check* *EDIT* 5 sales, outliers of $30 (low) and $71 (hi) - average of $47 for sold copies of Solar #10 in eBay's records right now. So if you count the time involved, you might not see a profit there... -slym
  4. I mean, her part is done anyway. We don't need more Fish Mooney. I'd have been perfectly happy had she "lain low" until after the TV series went off the air! -slym
  5. I just wish that Fish would get gutted and thrown overboard. -slym
  6. I see advertisements like this - say Bill Clinton was coming to your town to give a speech. Say the hall he is speaking at puts a Bill Clinton life-sized cardboard cutout in front of the hall with a sign saying "Bill Clinton, speaking here live!" Does that mean Bill Clinton already appeared? Or do you have to wait until Bill Clinton ACTUALLY SHOWS UP to say that? -slym
  7. If the inside of the Marvel comic has a title page that begins with "Stan Lee presents," then I have no problem with him signing it. It wouldn't be the first time his name is in/on the book, obviously. -slym
  8. Who is the artist on that S-G ASM300 homage variant cover? -slym
  9. And there's no need to assume there's some sort of "messup" involved. I feel this needs to be said again: creators don't care about the aftermarket. Their only concern is "is this a good story, yes/no, and will it sell copies, yes/no?" I doubt the scheduling of Gambit's appearances even entered Claremont's...or anyone's...mind. He and the Simonsons plotted out DOFP, included Gambit because the story takes place after the story in 265-267, and that was that. No error, no screwup. Nothing "came out too early", there was no "mixup at the distributor", etc. This isn't the first time such an "out of chronology" story has happened...in fact, it happened all the time ("The events in this story take place BEFORE/AFTER thus and such")...it just happened that THIS time involved the debut of one of the more popular characters created in the time period. I have to wonder why we were told to pull them off the shelves, then. -slym
  10. At my newsstand, we had a three-month return window on monthly magazines & comic books. -slym
  11. No Please you submitters please stop submitting books to CGC so my books can be graded faster. Obviously. No, my books have been sitting "in line" stacked up with all the others, waiting to be encapsulated. They are backed up on comics waiting to be slabbed, they are grading them at a decent clip, esp. compared to the encapsulation department. -slym (that's what he was told the last two times he called the CGC)
  12. She's a cutie-patootie, too! -slym
  13. A store that caters to the market of 16-21 year olds and people that want to believe they are still 16-21 even though they are 38. They mostly sell clothes, but other accessories as well as the odd collectible (lke comics & this Funko bobbleheads.) -slym
