  1. I can cut and paste my review from what has been said here already:

Never read the book, so an all-new character for me w/no historical knowledge

Enjoyed the show, but cannot be compared to Daredevil, as they are completely different

Some slow episodes in the middle, but picks up at the end

Great villain, sad that he won't get a chance to face DD

  2. While not as 'underground' as your examples, Marvel published four issues of Pro Action magazine (1994ish). Focused on the NFL, this was during the time when there was a lot of crossover between superheroes and athletes, both in comics and trading cards. There were two bound-in Spider-Man comics & two X-Men comics.

  3. Gotcha... not sure that Overstreet is the right venue to talk about a "Top Books" list based on "influence, collector interest, or notability/notoriety" since it's the price guide and it's so well-known for having Top 100 Golden Age, Top Silver Age, etc., ordered strictly by the prices listed in the guide. hm

Agreed. I'd guess that about 20 of the books in the 'influential' list would be a Top 50 Copper Overstreet book (based on their raw 9.2 prices). A little higher if you include the variants (for example, TMNT #1 1st, 2nd and 3rd prints are all ranked in the top 14 copper books per Overstreet standards). Sadly, Overstreet does not even track their top books all that closely.

  4. Okay, so being 40 years old, I have never read Infinity Gauntlet nor had any interest in the Cosmic heroes in the slightest but in the last month or so I have decided to give it a shot. It's the one area of the Marvel Universe that I felt I didn't know like the back of my hand.

Last week I bought the IG trade and read it in one night. I enjoyed it but was expecting something more and to be totally blown away. Perhaps I had to experience it at the time it came out to really get how important to the Marvel Mythos it was/is.

So I forged ahead and last night read Infinity War, which I thought was absolutely brilliant. Magus as the villain, the Doom/Kang combo, making the Infinity Gauntlet have power again, Thanos being the "secret keeper" of the infinity stone. I just felt that it was a better story, and not just the slugfest that IG seemed to be.

Ryan pointed out this thread to me this afternoon, and have already read all 107 pages. I don't know how long my Thanos / Warlock "phase" will last (I have the worst collecting AD+D of all time) but for now I'm all in.

Does the trade include Thanos Quest?
