No known reason for it's scarcity, but it is tough. A copy went last year on Heritage for under $100.00. That's the only one I've seen. Maybe people didn't like the picture of the old lady tied up. Must have missed that one on Heritage. Possible that newsstands (or readers) objected to the cover image, although there was certainly a lot of rougher stuff on covers in the early '50s. I don't see why you would want APC 18. It is a pretty ordinary cover for Baker. APC 14 and 15 are much better. That's why I didn't up my bid. But it is scarce.

Harvey file copies were just warehoused, without climate control, hence the PQ.

Sort of. I was the underbidder on the CL 25. I wanted it, but was scared of what I would have to pay. To the person who's bid I drove up (we both sniped at the same second), enjoy the book. The DS 13 is very hard to find and has a salacious cover, and is a 9.2 copy! I thought it would go for well over 1k, but 2k is very healthy. I bid on all of them and, like you, was washed away. At least you have your avatar.

Wow, I just browsed through the last 20 pages or so. I will never, ever understand the Nazi Fetishism that was so prevalent in these magazines. I do like the layout and lighting of this one though! I was thinking the same thing with the bird framing the girl's form and her lighting. I've never seen so many sweat mags in my life. Or swastikas.

You can never go wrong with a copy of PL 23.

I've known about that Diary Secrets for some time and had a friend actively looking for it- it is pretty scarce. Since I don't collect MM, I'd never pay the premium it always commanded. That seller was pretty lucky, the 2 right people bid on it.
