  1. My copy is the first one shown. I was an underbidder. Next year the winner was selling it on ebay for what he paid. I offered him a lowball which he grudgingly took.
  2. I got my PL 17, cgc 4.5, for $2400.00 in 2009. Comics were depressed along with everything else. I got it on a lowball offer.
  3. After this auction, I'm going to have to get my copy slabbed. https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/horror/strange-mysteries-13-superior-comics-1953-cgc-vf-75-off-white-pages/a/7341-94284.s?type=bidnotice-dailystatus
  4. My Okajima currently on the Ha.com Sig.
  5. She had another copy that was higher graded, but liked the colors on this one better. Whether she kept them both, I don't know.
  6. I don't know for sure. She thought at the time the CL was 4.5/5.0.
  7. Mainly X-men I heard. https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/2257529923872
  8. Looks like it finished and was legit. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/374884465807?ntype=bns&mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11002.m43.l2649&mkcid=7&ch=osgood&euid=f4d438f42fd6476b8678d31f80249b63&bu=42976757824&osub=-1~1&crd=20230823025630&segname=11002
  9. Did you point out his signature on the cover?
  10. I know ppl who love this cover and have tried to get it off me. They like it better than CL 25. Why? One guy, who doesn't like it, compared it to a Norman Rockwell painting. Nothing salacious, a certain innocence that St. John's was trying for in their code period just before they ceased publishing. I love those wordless mini masterpieces. Check out the final days of Teen-age Romances or Going Steady, which started out as Teen-age Temptations. Check out TaR 40-45. Very sought after. And continuing to be so as the populations on those books is scarce. High grade would kill it price wise. I find the posing elegant, subtle and evocative in the 29. Even the holding of the tennis racket says so much. Then there is the car, perfectly positioned. The colors are muted, but beautiful. Their eyeline, important in film, is spot on. Baker knocked it out of the park with this one. Why he was a genius.
  11. I met Feldstein twice and we talked about Baker and how he influenced him, but nothing about PL17.
