  1. It will, to some extent. But the point is, it is best to remove additional sources of acidity (ALL unbuffered backboards) to minimize the acid load on the microchamber paper and allow it to do its thing removing by-products of deterioration and pollutants. If you use Gerber or Cole boards you have the structural support of the board and the chemical support of the buffering. CGC places microchamber paper inside the front cover and back cover to protect the most critical/valuable part of the comic. I also put a piece in the centerfold of my more valued books. If I had $1000 books more than a few minutes, I would probably put a couple more pieces in them.
  2. These are the prime (and recurring) examples of why I always recommend fold over flap top M2 mylars with Gerber boards (and microchamber for your valued books) rather than open top Archives. It is likely that your book was damaged by Ozone, Nitrous Oxides, Sulfur Dioxide or other oxidizing or acidifying gaseous pollutants, all of which are unaffected by any backboard, but which are absorbed and neutralized by microchamber paper.
  3. Mike, thanks for performing such a thorough test. I have explained this so many times that I get blue in the face. Now I can just link people to this thread as the visual evidence is something people can really absorb. By the way, one other thing I find telling about BCW's extenders, is that they copied the name of the well respected Bill Cole product line "X-tenders"
  4. Instant payment and easy international transaction Thanks again!
  5. A couple blunted to sharp corners and removal of the beginning of Marvel chipping (or other 1/16" edge tears)? Wouldn't that be more than a couple points?
  6. From what their cust service rep told me in general, the number is just based on the final graders opinion, he may take the other graders notes into account, but the last grader gets the final say. That is true for run of the mill books, but when you are talking about a top census mega key, I would think it would have to go through Haspel, or Borock at the time.
  7. I also despise getting and giving gift cards, for all the reasons you stated. From now on I am going to write "Use anyFREAKINwhere, Gift Card" on any Cash I give for Christmas.
  8. No one will tell you that you are in the wrong. However, you do need to go ahead and put this on ebay ASAP with a $500 starting bid, as it will likely sell. Then you can put this behind you and you can enjoy the fact that Bill who thought he was putting one over on you, has now made you a great profit and him a douchebaggery reputation
  9. What an Bill thought his little joke would get past you. It will be nice to auction this on ebay to show everyone his true colors. Don't start for less than $1500 because he will be sure to lose that much and more if you just set it up weekly until the end of the year.
  10. Simple, Easy, US to Canada transaction (thumbs u Immediate Payment too!
  11. Great Psycho #3 Batmiesta. Tough to find Skywalds in that good of a shape. Also, much love for Buffyfan's Vampirella puzzle.
