The Ambush Bug mini, Son of Ambush Bug, and the Ambush Bug Stocking Stuffer Xmas special are near and dear to me to a degree I'm uncomfortable discussing... When AB (SPOILERS) deflates Darkseid, i thought that was the funniest thing as a pre-teen comics fan. The Mitsu Bishi panels (though not exactly racially sensitive) were a favorite, as well. RIP Cheeks and Kevin.

Nah. There are so many deals happening every hour of every day that I don't see and they dwarf most of the ones I do see. I can't go back and beat myself up for missing or skipping an auction... I'd go insane.

Kirby, for sure. So many creations and stories Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster, for another... they created the emblematic superhero, Siegel went to war, and their individual life experiences as Jewish creators of the most famous comic hero of all time and the struggles they went through with DC. Fascinating stuff.

Question about registration and grading disparity
Jesse Larson replied to Jesse Larson's topic in Comics General
A very positive update : I emailed back and forth with Nichole in customer service to exchange photos and information. They tracked the original SS designation down and she stated "I have verified that this was intended to have the yellow label and the previous submission number is 4195251-003, anything that was included prior will be restored." So grateful to @CGC Mike and the support folks on this. -

There're only 2 issues cataloged in the 9.2 SS column. I'd think they'd be able to match those up pretty quickly, if that were the case... I just don't know.

I sent in a 9.6 SS Stan Lee Daredevil #1 for the Alex Ross signing. After I got notification that it shipped, I signed in and looked at the registry scan. The scan showed a 9.6 SS label for the Ross sig, but completely omitted the Stan Lee sig. The notes in the registry didn't match the label and stated it was now listed as a 9.2 Qualified SS Ross with "a name written on the cover". When I actually received the book, it had the incorrect 9.2 label. Mike got me in touch with customer service, and they're looking into it. I'm not holding out much hope, unfortunately. I know that they want to make things right, but I don't know if they're capable at this point. I sent them a pic of the Qual SS label as shipped and looked up in the CGC census page. There are 16 books listed under the 9.6 SS heading for the DD#1 2014 Ross Sketch cover, and my Stan Lee should be one of those. There are no listings under the Qual SS 9.2 header. All the more confusing...

OK, I will trust your guidance on this, @CGC Mike When I receive the book from Fed Ex, I'll get it sent out again. Much appreciated. -

Question about registration and grading disparity
Jesse Larson replied to Jesse Larson's topic in Comics General
I really appreciate you getting this on CGC's radar, Mike. However, I'm having a bit of trouble with the situation. After poring over some of the other problems folks have encountered elsewhere on the boards, I'm wondering if I should bother. I know I shouldn't pay attention solely to the negative experiences other have had with sending back books for a "mechanical error", as they can be the most vocal. However, there doesn't seem to be much of a positive response for items sent back in. If the end result is that I lose my book for another 5 or 6+ months only to have it sent back with a lesser rating/status, I might as well just keep the book? I would think that there should be some indication of what happened to my book, but I know that the volume of books processed can make that a daunting proposition. And, perhaps my fear is that this will just be given short-shrift and end up losing the original Stan Lee SS due to some processing error that isn't worth CGC's time/resources to fairly resolve. The prospect of going from originally a 9.6 Stan Lee SS to a 9.2 qualified label isn't fair or right. I re-emailed the submissions@ address again with my concerns, but understand they may take awhile to respond. I'm just quite conflicted, at this point. -

Awesome, @CGC Mike !!! That was fast.... thank you so much. It's tracked to be delivered to me on Monday, and I will get that turned around and sent back in. Did they find out where the mix-up occurred? -

Yeah, fingers crossed... I saw the news about Mike's mom, so he certainly doesn't need to worry about this. Family stuff is more important. -

Question about registration and grading disparity

The purchase was actually at the onsite Stan Lee Store at the first ACBC in 2015 (I don't think they're doing it anymore?) and the twist is this : I had purchased the M&G signing with Stan and brought a few books to sign. He had to cancel due to his health, so they offered credit at the SL store on site, instead of waiting for a refund. I got a Spider-man #1 (2014) 9.8 SS slab with Stan's and Alex Ross' sig and the DD #1 9.6 SS signed only by Lee. I only received a simple handwritten receipt that I proceeded to discard. Trying to stay calm about it... I still have the book and the wonderful sigs. Just really hate to lose that CGC status on it... especially since I don't think I didn't anything wrong when submitting? It being the first time I was mailing something in, I was really anal-retentive about going down their checklist. -

I just sent in an email to the submissions@ address a little bit ago (noted at the bottom of the registry lookup page). Hopefully, they can rectify that. I would hate to lose the Lee sig in the registry...
