  7. It's not set-up to have the halls split by comic era, the Halls are their simply to help combat the overload the new boards have when there are so many images loaded into a single post. I just meant to say that I was willing to do it that way when I first revamped it in 2016. But if sellers who actually set-up at the VCC don't want it, it doesn't make sense to scare them off.
  8. @Bomber-Bob I didn't want this weekends show to pass by unnoticed again.
  9. This was what I had originally intended when I took over the VCC set-up, but the sellers that I spoke to were not very keen on the "extra work" needed to create multiple booths. I still like the idea very much.

  14. I think what we have is good without creating a new thread. I cannot imagine that anyone who voted yes for the first question would be against a trial run. I'll wait until after this weekends VCC, to avoid any confusion, and contact the admins.

  19. I can only do a limited number of things in the VCC section, no where else. Strikes/suspensions are between admins. and offenders only since the 2016's big switch.
  20. Not really. According to the guidelines, all VCC sales are to be completed through PM only. I always included the overflow booths into this guideline. https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/topic/444202-the-virtual-comic-convention-vcc-rules-tips-faqs/?tab=comments#comment-10495333
  21. I think now that the idea has been fleshed out a little bit, some questions answered and concerns addressed, people who may have voted no may be more willing to give it a trial run. If the voting stays relatively the same over the next week or so, I'll present it to the admins for a final say. I've also added a second question to the poll asking members if they would be willing to give it a trial run for the next two VCCs in 2019 (Aug. and Dec,). I should have thought about that the first time around, so my apologies to all. Hopefully those who have already voted will find their way back and vote again. ***edit*** Well that sucks. It looks like those who have already voted cannot cast a vote for a question added after the fact. Sorry everyone. If you'd like, please post a yes or no in the thread if you'd accept the idea of a trial run.
  22. Just for the record, what I proposed will not eliminate the exclusivity rule for all sales across all areas of the forum for all of time. It will be an exclusive benefit for those that are willing to set-up a booth during the weekends of the VCC, which is literally 3 weekends a year.... 34 hours 3 times per year. This may make the VCC no better than anywhere else, but, imo, it makes the VCC unique within the confines of these chat boards. I can see where some sellers may actually look forward to being able to sell during the VCC because of this rule change. I look at it as not closing a door, because those who do not wish to sell in multiple venues (because it's a PITA or whatever reason) surely do not have to, but instead it opens a door for others who would if not for the exclusivity rule. I look at this as a good thing, because the more sellers that there are for the VCC, the more exposure everyone who sets up receives. I also advertise, to the best of my ability, all VCC events. I email, I tweet, I facebook (often with paid promotions), I post ads and links on other forums, and I do my very best to get the word out to every board member here that I can. Whether or not is does any good, that is unknown, but this is a benefit that the regular sales forum does not receive and in my mind a definite plus that sellers receive for their VCC participation.
  23. This has been asked several times over several years, even before I came along to help with the VCC, and the answer has always been an overwhelming NO. During the past few VCCs, I've looked at active sales threads and although there are a few sales threads created during the weekend of the VCC, there have always been more sellers set-up during the VCC than the total those selling in the regular Marketplace sections..
  24. I made a list a while back of VCC participants from VCC XXVI through present.... I know, I'm lame. You participated in VCC XXXIII, XXXI, XXVIII, XXVII, and XXVI (probably more if you go back further)... quite a few actually.
  25. This is a great point and falls right in line with my way of thinking. With every sale in the VCC being done though PM, it makes it nearly impossible to double sell a book that sells on another venue. The seller would simply have to check their PM and before confirming the sale, check the other venue to see if it is still available. If it is, remove it from that venue and then respond to the VCC PM and confirm the sale. It may require a bit more diligence for the seller, but that is, imo, not a bad thing. As a buyer, my hope is always that the seller I'm dealing with is on the ball. **edit** This also helps answer the question of impunity for sellers posed by @Callaway29 With all sales in the VCC being done via PM, there should be no reason for a seller to over-sell an item. They can check availability before responding. If for some reason it does happen, the seller should be held to the same standards that already exist here on the boards.
